I have been scrapbooking for just about as long as I can remember, and I switched to the digital format in the spring of 2009. At one point I had thought I would never make the switch, but certain events in my life, as well as my lifestyle choice made it obvious that digital was a much better medium for me than paper. I had a leg up on the learning process, as I spent my few years after college working as a web designer and developer, which relies on at least a basic understanding of Photoshop.
I started scrapbooking after my family moved to La Paz, Bolivia when I was 12. I started accumulating lots of pictures (and memories!) from our travels, and with my parent's guidance found a hobby that I both loved and appreciated the end product.

The travels continued when my family moved to Hong Kong, where I finished the last two years of high school. I moved back to Minnesota to attend Bethel University and obtain a degree in physics. I also met my husband, a fellow physics major, and we were married after we finished school.

My husband also grew up living abroad, and it wasn't long before we found ourselves living in a foreign place again. We've just finished 2 years in Gunsan, Korea teaching English in the public schools to middle school students. Korea and its friendly people have left a special mark on our hearts, and now that we are gone, we miss it everyday.

Currently, with my husband in tow, I am traveling the world. Still in Asia right now, the plans are to head towards Europe. All the pictures keep me busy scrapbooking and my husband is busy making computer games of our travels.

I have big plans for this website, which are somewhat on hold as I travel, but I'll be maintaining what you see here and adding to my lists of assets, templates and pages as I travel. I'm happy and blessed to be able to share a little of my adventure with you!

I read what you have written.. And I am wondering how long ago you set this site up..
There are digital search engines set up to find providing we tag our items correctly..
And I have always been able to find the things I have searched for..
I like your principals and I wish you all the best with your site...
I have been looking through CraftCrave at least once a week for about a year. This is the first time I have noticed your site and I am very glad I did. I love the way you have it set up. Sometimes in kits there are only a few items I use but just can't trash the items I don't. I know how hard designers work on them, so I just can't do it! Great idea to offer individual pieces. I appreciate the offer and link to the template. Another great idea. Hope you don't mind, but, I would like to offer one suggestion. Link the tutorial also, if you have one. (I have only been using Photoshop for about a year. I know there is a very simple way to copy the scalloped edge all the way across the layout. But my mind went blank. That's what made me think of linking the item to the tut.) Thanks for sharing your art and your tuts! I will be back to visit again!
Thanks for the idea Sondra! This website is just starting to get going, so any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Keep checking back!
What a lovely site.
I'm off to have a good look around.
Thank you for all the great designs, and for the CU TOUs.
One small suggestion - it is very useful to have the designer's name or initials in front of the file name.
(e.g. "pixmem scalloped border01")
That way you can organize all of that designer's downloads and also give proper credit when an item is used.

Thanks for the tip. I've been trying to work out how to go about naming my files and keeping them organized for myself, and it's great to know how it would be helpful to you!
This site is a wonderful resource! Thanks so much for providing it.
FYI, I used some of your images in my latest kit and gave you credit, on both the blog post where the kit download is available and in my terms of use. You can see the kit by clicking on the URL linked to this comment.
Thanks again! :-)
Thanks for sharing the link. I love to see what people are making with my stuff!
I LOVE your style so much! I check this site every single day! as a fairly new Digiscrapper, I appreciate the tutorials as well (although I'm constantly curious how you do what you do, i'd love to see more! :) ). Just wondering if I could request some holiday designs? I'd love to see what you do for Halloween, Fall, Christmas, Birthdays...etc.
Thanks sooo much!
Sarah

wOw, and I thought I was *the* traveler....love what I see, and I see a lot of my friends posting here...will come back with time to look through properly :)
Just discovered your site. How wonderful!! Have been scrapbooking for some years now. Love digital and all the wonderful goodies to find. But I'm so tactile I just can't give up the touchy-feely things. Guess I like combining them both.
Love your work!! Thank you so much for sharing it. :-)
Marissa, would it help if you sent me the files you want to share, and I could put them up on Media Fire? Then you'd only have to have one download per item, and it would save you a heck of a lot of money. I wish I had $1. to send your way. I don't; but I'll be happy to help you out another way!
Okay, I guess you need to know who I am (duh!). I'm Suzi Wollman, otherwise known as Joyfully Yours, Susannah (http://joyfullyyourssusannah.blogspot.com) email: joyfullyyourssusannah@gmail.com
Thanks for the tip Suzi! I considered using MediaFire, but I think that one of the things that makes this site useful is the ability for direct download, without waiting around at outside hosting sites. If people agree with me, we should be able to raise the money, otherwise I will have to revert to using a site like MediaFire.
I just came across your website, Marisa, and I have to confess: I am loving it! I've always been the artsy type and lately I've been doing a lot of projects for family, while at the same time, attempting to start a small business. I can't tell you how much I love having a mostly "no strings attached" resource like yours to use while I start creating and building my own database of artwork for digital scrapbooks and other projects. Because of your generosity and skill, I am definately going to donate to your project! Thank you so, so much!
A new friend and user,
-Jennifer
I'm glad to hear your loving it! Thanks for leaving a comment, and when you get a chance, leave me a link to your work. I love to see it!
Hi Msrisa,
Love Your Site! Your work is awesome! If you find you need to use an outside source for downloading I would suggest box.net. You can get 5GB free or you can get 25GB of space for a little over 9.00 a month and you can get more as well. The best thing about box.net is that it offers direct downloads for your links.... no waiting around! It's what I use and I love it. Hope this is some help to you.
Stay Safe in your Travels, Nina
Here is the link for their site....

Thanks for the tip Nina!
How much fun is this site! Just did a "Chipin" and expect to give more in the future. Thank you so much! I will be especially excited if I can figure out my new Silhouette and cut out some of these files. Thanks again!
All the best from Germany!
I love the idea of your site. I wish you all the best and hope it all works out the way you planned.
Cheers

Hello Melissa,
I used one of your digital papers and gave the appropriate credits - even if you didn't require one. The least I could do appreciate what you do. Perhaps you'd want to think on putting some discrete Adsense ads on your site to cover maintenance expenses. Your loyal visitors would certainly tolerate a few ads to keep the site they love running.
Regards,
Michelle

Sorry, I didn't wear my glasses today, otherwise I would have typed 'Marisa' instead of Melissa. :D
Thanks for the note! I'm actually working on a complete redo of the site, at which time I may or may not be adding ads.
Just discover this wonderful site; i'm looking for this kind of stuff everyday and - I must say - it doesn't happen very often to find REAL taste; you have it.
I mean, it's heartwarming, I really love it.
So thank you very much for sharing!
Cheers from Italy,
-Marcello

Would you email me offline re: commercial use of this illustration?
Thank you.

It's so funny how I was reading all about you and picked up all the things we had in common. I grew up in Hong Kong and my husband is from Korea as well. :) We're in HK now but we miss the country. Thanks for offering all the resources and I love your layouts!!
Hi I luv your site and I will make donations but as I said before most of your tutorials are video and photoshop..Alot of people including me cannot use photoshop and cannot get the videos..I prefer PSE and Tutorials in PDF so its easier to follow as you do the project..Like I would love to use alot of your templates but I need a tutorial on the jpg ones..
Thanks for your site..
Thanks for the feedback. I'll see what I can do!
