Are you busy, in the midst of Thanksgiving preparations? Or maybe you aren't celebrating Thanksgiving. Either way, I have a nice break in the holidays for you this week. This is a somewhat older kit, that I had to work a bit on to make it ready for download. Enjoy!
Yesterday I finally got set up to start scanning in all my old paper scrapbooks. I've been wanting to do this for a long time, but the immensity of the project has kept me from getting started. But I guess the air was extra special yesterday because I've made a start. And it's become clear that I will probably be scanning in pages for the next twenty years.
After a long stretch of rain and clouds, yesterday the sky cleared up, the sun came out and the temperature dropped considerably. Woke up this morning to a very cold house, but the sun is still out so I guess that's a consolation.
We're in the midst of a big push, trying to get various things finished before out-of-town family starts arriving on Saturday for Thanksgiving festivities. Yesterday I made a practice round of mashed potatoes for a party. I feel pretty confident about mashed potatoes now. It's nice to feel like something from the Thanksgiving menu isn't a mystery.
What a busy time of year it is! I'm starting to feel a bit nervous about everything I want to get done. And honestly, what I'm mostly doing is watching Doctor Who, so I'm not sure that bodes well for getting anything else done before Christmas. We'll be traveling in December to Mexico, so there's a lot to do to get ready for that trip, and we've got family coming in for Thanksgiving next week. Busy, busy!
Things are so busy that I double booked bundles this week, one for Thanksgiving and one for Hanukkah. Enjoy!
I joined with various people on the internet on Wednesday to capture the daily routine of a typical day. It was fun to bring special meaning to a regular day, as well as to see the lives of strangers pass by in my Instagram feed. I'm counting this as a warm up exercise. I managed to capture some moments, but a lot slipped by. Looking forward to giving it another try.
Running a site like this means that I should be up on social media. I think I manage to do an okay job running the Pixel Scrapper Facebook page, and when it comes to Twitter...well...I do my best. But my favorite place on the internet, current site excluded, is Pinterest. I just love the constant stream of ideas and jokes and delicious food. My life has certainly become much richer since I joined.
Every once in a while we like to post a little something about the technologies and services that help make Pixel Scrapper possible. Today I'd like to give a big shout out to an application called New Relic.
For any of you who operate websites, you've probably wondered at times exactly how long it takes your website to load for your users all around the world. Of course, you know how fast (or slowly) your website tends to load for you, but what about your average user? What about your user in Brazil?
This week's bundle is a bit of an oldie, in fact it's full of some of the oldest stuff on the site! A lot of my older stuff is just hanging around, although a lot of it coordinates so I've been trying to get it into kits so people are aware, and this is part of that effort!
I know from the forums that we have lots of community members who are involved in the military, so I wanted to be sure today to thank you all for your service and your family's as well. I hope you enjoy this day set apart for your honor.
It's Thursday, which means it's the day to look back in the archives. Three years ago I was trudging around Taiwan in the rain. Love Taiwan, love walking in the rain every day a little less. Taiwan was the first stop on the year long trek Jordan and I took, and it stole our hearts. All 16 countries that followed were just a little less magical.
I've got an active bundle for you this week! Inspired by my own recent journey into running (really slowly), I know other people are working on getting fit too! Can't wait to see all your inspirational layouts with this!
What a month of layouts! If you joined us for our layout challenges and goal setting I hope you feel as accomplished as I do! Sneaking in this final review of October, I made my goal of 21 layouts + 3 bonus layouts! I had some random pages I wanted to get made and also I wanted to use products from designers besides myself, and from outside of Pixel Scrapper. You can browse through my layouts for the challenge here. I haven't posted them all yet, I'm saving some of them for future kit releases.
