Trying to keep track of everything on my to-do list can be a challenge. Particularly when you consider all the things, from all the different parts of life times all the time into the future you're thinking about. The task is daunting enough that I've generally just given up trying to get it organized. However, recently a few ideas have come together, and I'm hoping to share a few little tidbits that will be helpful to you.
Over the Christmas holiday we were lucky enough to spend a couple weeks in Mexico with my parents. It was a fun and relaxing time, if a littler colder and rainier than we were expecting (January in Oregon has been a weather improvement, I have to confess). But we did see some sun, and the little town where my parents live is exceptionally cute.
A super fun bundle this week to celebrate Chinese New Year! I am somewhat in love with the little animal faces I drew for this bundle, and crossing my fingers I got all the Chinese right (copy-pasted from Wikipedia...) I am quite keen to use this bundle for some personal scrapping, but it's so far back in the archives I don't know when I'll get around to it...I actually graduated from high school in Hong Kong, and my family continued to live there while I was in college, so I visited often. Lots of old photos to scrap...
I think this will be my last post about my favorites from 2013. Jordan loves to watch movies, I perhaps enjoy watching television a bit to movies, although I still love a good movie. Here are my favorites from 2013.
I'm super excited to announce that we have a new designer joining us here at Pixel Scrapper. You've probably seen her around as one of our super-duper moderators, Melouise Vrijhof! I'll let her tell you a little about herself:
Still working my way through 2013. In this case I was trying to hold off until I got our photos from Mexico edited. I'll have a post just about our trip soon. But here are my 15 favorite photos from the year. It's crazy to think of all the places we went this year. 2013 was a busy year!
Here's the completion to my 2013 monthly layout project. This was a great, simple way to document the year. In some cases this was the only layout I made in the entire month, and it was nice to have this project to help motivate me to get at least that many made. It was also a fun way to use different blog trains that I was collecting at the time, which I often let languish in hidden folders in the depths of my computer. I'm not sure I'm going to do this project exactly the same way this year. I think I may be inspired enough to try and do a bit more than 12 layouts to capture my year.
I've got a new wintery bundle for you this week. I know lots of you are in the midst of a cold and snowy time. My sister lives in Minneapolis, so I get cold updates from her. Jordan and I are out on the Oregon Coast right now. It's chilly, but not really if you consider somewhere like Minnesota...So this bundle is for those of you going around all bundled up. Think cozy thoughts!
So one of my goals for 2014 was going to be to read more. I felt like I hadn't read very many book in 2013. Then it turned out I actually read 62 books, which is fewer than the 87 I read in 2012, but still an acceptable number, as I was going to set my goal at 52, or a book per week. It was nice to accomplish my new year's resolution without even knowing it.
I'm super excited about this kit, mostly because I'm really looking forward to using it with my photos from my trip to the beautiful Lake District last summer. It was a wonderful little stop on our way back to the States, you can read more about it here if you'd like. As for designing this actual bundle, it really was something of a struggle to get the colors right.
For the last three years, I've compiled a list of everyone's favorite songs and created a playlist for everyone to enjoy (see 2012 here). This year I created a special bundle to help me make a little accompanying booklet.
2014 seems to have come like both a thief in the night and a punch in the face. I was most certainly not ready for it, and now it's here and there's no going back. I'm trying to convince myself that just because I didn't have everything figured out before the clock struck midnight, doesn't mean I can't spend the whole month of January trying to figure out what I want to do with the rest of 2014. So, I'm still working on my goals and big to do list for 2014. In the meantime, I'm going to share a bit about what was great in 2013. First up, Instagram.
