The Pyramids
Jordan and I flew from Amman to Cairo (about a one hour flight) and spent a couple days there before heading down on the train to Luxor. Thanks to my wonderful sister who works at a Sheraton in the States, Jordan and I were able to get a special rate at Le Meridien which is right next to the pyramids. Check out this view:
I loved the location because otherwise you wouldn't get to see much of the pyramids, just whenever you chose to go out and visit them. But we got to see them pretty much any time we went outside.
The weather was surprisingly cool and with the sun setting early, the pool was a bit chilly. But I did get in a couple times.
I thought the Pyramids were absolutely fantastic. I was a little worried that something so iconic would end up not being as exciting in real life as it was in my head, but there's nothing quite as exciting as coming up on the Pyramids by horseback from the desert.
About a half hour away from the Pyramids, is a smaller pyramid at Sakkhara. We went out there for a little bit and enjoyed posing amongst the ruins.

The first picture is so surreal. Something so modern juxtaposed with something so ancient. The history in these remaining pictures is incredible.
