Basic Challenge Rules

I'm sure these will be modified over time, leave comments if you have suggestions.

Basic rules:

  1. Everyone may submit one layout (their best!). Layouts may be any dimension.
  2. Layouts must follow the directions of the challenge to be eligible for points and prizes.
  3. Layouts must be uploaded to the Pixel Scrapper gallery to be eligible for points and prizes (get access here).
  4. Layouts can use elements from any designer (you do NOT need to use a certain % of Pixel Scrapper elements).
  5. Layouts must be tagged with the tag provided in each challenge.
  6. A layout may only be submitted once for a challenge. You can't double-up and submit the same layout to more than one challenge.
  7. Dates will be set individually for each challenge.

Prizes:

  1. Every user who submits a layout for the challenge will get 10 community points.
  2. One random participant of each challenge will receive 50 download credits (DC) as the main prize.
  3. Some challenges may include a small prize for the layout which receives the most "hearts."
  4. In future, participants and winners will receive special "badges" on their profiles.

To participate you should:

  1. Upload your layout to the Pixel Scrapper gallery. To get access, sign up here.
  2. Post a reply in the forums to the challenge you are entering, linking to your submitted layout.
  3. Right click on the image of your layout and choose "copy image URL." Paste this link into the image button on your forum post. Don't forget to include the link to your layout too, so people can smiley it. This is your entered layout for the challenge (see here for helpful screenshots).
  4. Be sure to check out the other submissions and leave comments and smiley .

I think these rules sounds great! any % of Pixel Scrapper items required for a layout submission? (i.e., 75% of layout should be used with Pixel Scrapper gear?)

Thanks Jaclyn. I think those requirements can be set on a per challenge basis. In general I don't want to limit what people are working with. Some challenges can be more specific to Pixel Scrapper than others.

Wonderful Marisa!!! I try do some LO soon...^^ It very fun!

I hope I understood everything! lol

I think the rules sound reasonable, too. I for one, really appreciate the concept of you allowing us to use other stuff because I don't have as much of the stuff here just yet. So it gives people like me the opportunity to actually participate and become a part of the community unlike some other websites stringent rules about a large % of site only supplies.
Maybe on layouts that used 75% or more of PixelScrapper.com product could earn a bonus point(s) or something like that.

The rules sound great

Sounds good. Thanks for not automatically limiting the use to Pixel Scrapper products only. Don't get me wrong, I love your stuff but as an inspirational scrapper, I want to use whatever I want and not be concerned with who created it or what store it came from. Those kind of rules have kept me from posting much of my work in the past.

Can't wait to be given access to the gallery! Excited to be able to participate! smiley

Oh, I like these rules! In another post I commented on the voting but if the above rules are used then everyone is covered and it would be really fair!

Sounds great. I can't wait to get started. Being a newbie here, I also love the community points as prizes. That'll help me get more of your amazing goodies faster!

Sounds very straightforward... smiley

I can't wait to get started!! This sounds so fun. Of course, I don't have 25 points yet, lol.... so I guess I have to wait. But I did place your badge on my blog frontpage so hopefully that will make me eligible with enough community points? I've read so much on here already... great place to be.

Hi Marisa. I am thoroughly enjoying this sight. I just signed up today and ran across this challenge. I would love to participate but am uncertain as to how to get the required kit...do I purchase it? Thanks, Taynia

You can get kits either by purchasing the whole thing or downloading just the pieces you want by browsing the assets. You will also have to apply for gallery access here.

looking forward to getting enough community points to start participating in some of this fun stuff!

Must apply to join access to the gallery, off to do just that now!!!

When I try to sign up for the gallery, I get an advertisement page.

Upload your layout to the Pixel Scrapper gallery. To get access, sign up here.

I've given you access to the gallery Cindy, so you should be able to upload now.

Hi Marisa, when someone submits a layout for a challenge, do the 10 points appear at the end of the challenge, or once they have uploaded?

Thanks very much for your help!

@Ami - As far as I know, Marisa manually gives the points to each one!

I manually give the points once the challenge has finished. I usually leave a comment at the end with the winner and letting everyone know I've given out the points.

Just wanted everyone to be aware that I added a rule:

Quote:
A layout may only be submitted once for a challenge. You can't double-up and submit the same layout to more than one challenge.

I totally LOVE that you don't set the percentage of Pixelscrapper-material that has to be used! Most other forums do that, and I never lasted long there- I have so many stuff, and it's awful when I get a challenge and then can use only a certain amount of my things... for me, it takes the whole fun out of it! It's wonderful that this site is different!!!

This will be my first entry for a scrap challenge and I like the simple rules. Thanks.

I can't wait to upload my first LO!! Waiting on the access acceptance smiley I'm working on a couple other LO's to in the mean time! The guidelines sound great and to the point!

These sound good rules.

great rules! cant wait to post

With all the talk on the gallery again, I was just wondering...how does #3 work exactly...I've got several on the cloud challenge, that I will have to figure out which I smiley best...if we are limited to just one heart on the voting...lol I've used this before, but someone's layout has just always stuck out in my mind, when I've hearted things.

Easy enough as I've posted a couple already. Thank you for making things so easy.
