What other digital scrapbooking sites would you recommend for novices? I am specifically looking for tutorial and some free kits because I have no budget to work with.
I currently found http://www.mymemories.com/ which looks promising.
Are you looking for sites to learn how to design, Or sites that offer free kit downloads to scrap?
For free kits, you can try Suzee Q's Stuff, and BestFreeDigitalScrapbook, and QualityDigiScrapFreebies.
Those are some of my favorites for free kits. Not so sure about sites with tutorials though:)
Thanks Sheila! Im looking for kits to download.
I'm wanting to learn how to design, looking for CU items, tutorials, free PS actions and styles etc. Any suggestions for me?
Karen Diamond Designs has tuts for designing and QC(and also plays on blog trains, so use to have freebies!): http://www.karendiamonddesigns.com/
@April if you dabble now then I would suggest that you take the Design Mentoring Class next year at Scraps N Pieces. Both Lorien and I participated this year and quite frankly, I might take it again to really reinforce the techniques. You have to get in early because they only take so many people. It was at the beginning of April through the middle of May. I have their blog on my reader. They also have a "Scrap It to Win It" contest coming up soon so you might want to check that out.
Since everyone has already posted lots of great freebie sites, I thought I would add a few tutorial sites, with lots of beginner tips:
And ofcourse right here on Pixelscrapper: http://www.pixelscrapper.com/forum/tutorial-table-contents
@Melouise thanks for the tutorial sites! I love seeing all the different tutorials and learning how to do new things.
great resources Melo!!! TFS them!
@April- I have some free cu stuff and styles on my blog here. Also, you can get some great cu items at KimB Designs, and JustJaimee, and Eyeinspire, and Delicious Scraps, HG Designs, and GraphicsFairy. You can get some great free clipart at Openclipart, and wpclipart, and Public Domain, and Clipartlord. For public domain photos of objects, like flowers and frames and buttons, etc... you could try Morguefile, and Pixabay. There are more, but these were the ones off the top of my head...I hope that helps a little...
The daily digi has a manual in PDF form you can print out as well.
Shabby Princess has a great tutorial for using templates here.
I actually found joining forums (like this) and just asking was easiest for me! Never did find any one good site (except Elements Village, when I was using PSE instead of PS). Google is usually pretty good at getting me started for particular designing issues.
The Scrappin Cop also has CU items....
Thanks to everyone for the fabulous links! I am in happiness overload! Bless your generous hearts for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us. It is much appreciated.
There are some great links to check out here awesome!
Thank you ladies so so much!!! I have enough to keep me busy for today now Sorry I didn't respond faster, we just got internet back after not having it for what seemed like forever!!!
Ok, I really did spend all afternoon on these links, and I'm not even done yet!! I need to go back up all the freebie things onto my EHD!!
Have any of you ladies checked out the Far Far Hill blog?
It is all over Pinterest these days. As far as I can tell all the PU items are free and the CU items are really inexpensive.
WOW Great freebie and CU resource Tiffany!!! TFS with us!
this site offers daily freebies- some good, some not so much. I have found some great websites, bloggers etc with beautiful work. Great way to get lost in time and find some really interesting things.
I sell on MyMemories, which is a great site. If you like them on Facebook, can participate in speed scraps on Sundays. Also, most designers have freebies on their FB pages (I'm still working on the tabsite to do a freebie on my FB page, lol. Sometimes the best thing is to experiment, but that's how I learn best.
Shabby princess is where I started out for freebies and their templates are kind of like tutorials in that they reach you good layout design. This site is also an excellent place to start with getting freebies and asking questions, very unique in that way.
http://www.computerscrapbook.com has about 90 AMAZING kits for free.
try scrapbook flair www.scrapbookflair.com
Scrapbook Flair is nice, but their stuff is tagger-sized - just an fyi - I learned that out the hard way when I was just starting out...
