About Me
Digital scrapper of travels and family activities, including those of 8 grandchildren. Still love cooking, both old and new recipes, even after 50+ years of it. Love traveling except for the getting there. (Does anyone enjoy airline travel anymore?)
Description
My photo swap partner, Jess T, sent me a BW heritage photo. It was such an intriguing photo it aroused my interest immediately and I couldn't stop until I had completed this layout. So that's how my Saturday went. Loved it.
I used some of Marisa's Pretty Things kit for the embellishments. The frame and postcards are from the Scrappin Cop.

This is absolutely beautiful. I love the same picture in black and white and color.
Beautiful juxtaposition of the 2 photos!! Amazing!
Lovely idea.
Amazing!!
I think this is a great idea having the vintage background , and vintage embellishments around the modern photograph. It looks perfect.
lovely vintage feel in the elements and the photo as a background is a nice touch :)
Glenda, thanks. Yes, first remove the color from your photo (Enhance - Adjust Color -Remove Color) then with the color of your choice in the foreground box, go over each area of the photo with the Impressionist Brush. PSE does the rest. Easy!
Lovely! Did you colorize the smaller pic?
I like the way the picture fades/mixes with the background paper.
Beautifully done, Harriett!
I love the embellishments that you chose to use they fit this photo so well!
Thank you, Jess. I'm glad you like it. The journaling is completely fictional, except for the name which was on the file you sent. And thank you for the info on the real woman, although I'm completely lost on the relationship. She looks like a strong minded, independent woman who would be interesting to know.
I like what you've done, it looks like it would have taken ages! You even took the time to colourise it! Is the story a part of your heritage or fictional?
Jane Robertson is my husband's relative:

mother-in-law of 1st cousin 2x removed of Michael (my husband)
pulled from ancestry.com.au
picture is entitled:
"Jane with grand-children - Trevor and Janice"
I to like that you have used the photo as the background. It really make the picture
I love that you repeated the picture in the background. Great job!
Absolutely love this. I'm a sucker for heritage pages, and this one is so pretty.
