2012 Wrap-Up - Scott Family

I wanted to be a part of the wrap-up challenge. I knew exactly what I wanted to do, but unfortunately wasn't anywhere near organized enough to get it done in time (ended up sifting through months of pictures that I hadn't even looked at due to the craziness of the past year). At any rate, I did it despite missing the deadline.

Here's the Text that goes along with the double page layout...

My oh my, what a year! It’s tough to know where to start to sum it up. I guess I’ll just start at the very beginning. Sophia (still in utero) and I rang in the new year at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Just before Christmas my water had broken at 22 weeks and I wasn’t allowed to check into the hospital until Sophia reached
two days shy of 24 weeks (the point of viability)...which brought us to January 31st. While Sophia and I stayed on bed rest at the hospital, Daniel continued to provide for our family and our sweet Annelyse got to spend lots of time with her extended family. One month and four days later(a whopping 46 days after my water broke) we welcomed two pound seven ounce Sophia Grace into our family.

Sophia’s nicu stay was far from uneventful, but by the time she had been there for nearly two months, she was ready to break free. So, on March 31st, we finally got to bring our baby girl home. Annelyse was over the moon that she finally got to tickle her sister (something that she had been wanting to do for months). Those first few months were pretty mellow (compared to what we had experienced in the first couple months of her life). We were so grateful that we were able to get used to life as a family of four.

This year Little Miss Annelyse celebrated her third birthday. She wore a tutu made by mommy and chose to have a Barbie birthday party, which was hosted by my eldest sister. So many of her family members came to celebrate! I’m still floored that my first baby is already three years old. Where oh where did the time go?!?

Summer brought lots of fun. We had multiple family visits, celebrated Sophia’s baptism, bought a new vehicle, and had our very first professional family photos taken. Whew...so many things going on!

Fall and winter brought a host of firsts for our family. This year we got to celebrate Thanksgiving as a family of four (and we had countless things to be thankful for this year). For Halloween, beautiful Leesey decided that she
and her sister should dress up as princesses. It was very fitting. Christmas memories are still very fresh in my mind. Our girls got to celebrate and enjoy each other during the best time of the year! Daniel and I rang in 2013 right here at our house. It was a mellow night where we were able to relax and enjoy all the memories that we’d made in the past year. We’re so thankful to have made it through this year as an intact family of four! We really couldn’t ask for more!
