About Me
I do my digital scrapbooking in Photoshop 7. I love to use vintage designs as I do a lot of LOs of my family and ancestors. Doing family genealogical research, I author two family blogs, two blogs on the cemeteries of north central Texas and ones in other states that I might find myself. You can find me on Facebook, Twitter, and Linked In. I am a mother of three, grandmother of six, and will be a great-grandmother in a matter of days. My husband and I are retired and have lived in Texas for the past 23 years. We will soon be moving back to North Carolina to live close to our daughter. I have four sisters whom I will miss terribly! I also have many nieces and nephews and cousins in Texas whom we will miss seeing often. But we also look forward to our new home in North Carolina!
Description
On one of our annual Girls' Weekend get-together, my sisters and I stopped in Meridian, Texas and enjoyed a great meal at the Cactus Grill. The blog Train had perfect colors for this layout.
I used papers and elements from the following Blog Train artists:
http://brandiwhitedesigns.com – Brandi White
http://jejjadesigns.com – Jessica Fors
http://stopshesgotacamera.blogspot.com – Emily Silverman
www.bitsoscrap.com – Tina Campanale
and a template from Scrapbook Challenges - http://scrapbookchallenges.com/

I agree, the pic needs something to make it pop - maybe a very narrow white or off-white matting would make it jump off the elements/cluster. Otherwise I really like it - the colors all play off of one another, and I love your little cluster. It's very harmonious.
Great LO and I love the chicken paper layer! tfs
I LIKE it!! Great colors.
Thanks ladies for the suggestions regarding the photo. My sisters ARE kind of lost there, aren't they? I'll definitely try getting my subjects closer to camera in order to get the sign in viewfinder, too. Thanks to all who liked the colors! Every critique, whether positive or negative is a learning tool. Thanks again.
The blend of yellow, teal and maroon look very nice together on this layout! That mix of colors does make me think of Tex Mex!
Very nice Judith...love your lo!
The color combination is one of my favorite! *heart* I absolutely adore it all except I wish the picture could be a little more accentuated, I'm just not sure what that is, maybe a border or frame? Maybe black and white? I don't know but I do like how the colors do go with the picture so well, I just feel like the picture gets lost in the layout and it seems like a really neat memory. But either way, it is a gorgeous layout!
A most appealing layout! The colors you chose go perfectly with the photo colors and also bring to mind Tex-Mex food. Too bad you couldn't have gotten the ladies a little more prominent in the photo. A trick I learned is to have the people stand close to the camera with the sign at the same distance you have it here. The cluster of the elements around the photo really focuses the eye. Well done!
