AMarie, thank you.. so, so much! So amazing of you.... and how lucky I am ....I would probs never have known ... I would need you to tag along in France to prevent any assumptions ;)

I would love to read a fiction book on our late friend or see a movie about the whole ordeal. Any recommendations?

Germany: Alamans only, no Saxons at all?

Thank you, Shannon. The Barbados Bar and Grill downtown is the closest I ever got to Barbados .... Enjoy your trip, sounds awsome.

French is not Franc. Germans come from Alamans, mainly Germanic tribes established first on the middle and lower courses of the Elbe and then along the Main (~216). In IIIeS a Frankish League, initially consisting of Chamave peoples, Chattuaries, Bructères and Saliens, also includes Tongeren already settled in Belgium, to which contribute the Sicambres, forms further north. In 496, the Alamans were defeated by Frank Clovis, who annexed their territory to his kingdom.

Beautiful page Bina - I'll have to scraplift this idea for my Barbados trip journal.

Thank you, AMarie and Robynne.
Robynne , the u is so much easier to say
AMarie, German and French are terms that originated much later than 496. Like Spanish.

But Clovis was a Franc guy, not a German. Lovely page.
