Process Video #69: Junk Journal

To begin this layout I added some scraps to layer behind my photo, including some tulle from some packaging I had saved. Next I added in a couple labels and a wood veneer heart. I add in a little ribbon loop. On the other side of the page I create a flip layer with my photo. Behind the photo I create a little secret decorative area.

For this layout I’m actually decorating a tag to stick in my junk journal. I cut the tag out of glittery pink paper and create a mini layout on one side with some paper scraps and my photo. I do the same on the reverse side, first taping down a background paper. I finish off my mini spread by adding some labels from my collection and a couple flower embellishments.

For this spread I’m following this sketch for the travelers notebook. Following the sketch, I add some scrap papers to the plain white background in my notebook and trim my photos to fit. I add a title with alphas from my stash and a couple embellishments finish this spread off.

In this spread, I'm doing my best to work with a bright lime green paper that I stuck in the junk journal when I made it. To make this work, I use a lot of black and white in the papers I layer behind the photo. The right side of the spread is a cut file that was included in the journal when I made it. After some embellishing on both sides, the spread is complete.

In this process video in my new junk journal I include some photos of my son at the library and the receipt we got that day of the books we checked out. On the left side of the page I include the receipt in a little bag. In the middle of the spread is a plastic pocket insert, where I include photos on the bottom and a sequin shaker pocket on the top. On the right side of the page I do some simple layering with my third photo. Sorry, this video cuts off briefly towards the end where I do a bit of paper layering and add in a couple labels.

In this process video in my junk journal I create a simple spread with a collage photo of my son. I add in a couple fun elements behind the photo on the left side and add some lace over the top of the photo. On the right side of the spread I just add a little word tag with some twine.

In this process video I use my digital Good Life: March 2019 collection. From the collection I use one of the printable journal pages to fill the right side of the page. Trimming my photo down with some round edges, I make it fit in the circular middle area. A bit of fun layering with some of the elements from the kit finishes off the little scrap paper in the middle of the spread.

An unusual orange paper in the middle of my junk journal calls for a pumpkin themed spread! In order to minimize the number of orange pages I have to use, I turn the paper into a pocket with double-sided tape on the top and bottom. Inside the pocket I make a little spread with some beautiful tissue paper, and then I make another layered spot on the front of the envelope.

On this simple spread in my junk journal I used a couple random paper layers behind the photo and cut some labels from the June Good Life Print Kit. A floral embellishment from my stash, some black photo corners and a handmade label finish off this project.
