30 Days of Christmas: Day 11
Today is shaping up to be a rainy, rainy day. It's been about half a year since we last had rain, so it's a nice change, but it makes the house very cold. I'm bundled up with my tea and space heater, but worried because I was really cold in the house yesterday and my father-in-law informed me that it was 64F/18C, but that we could expect the house to drop to 46F/8C in a month or so. I'm remembering last year sitting on the couch and seeing my breath.
Heating is a big issue here in Jordan. You may have seen protests here on the news a few weeks ago, which are related to rising costs, particularly for fuel (which among other things is used to heat the houses). The winters are cold and this year when we complain, our thoughts go to the Syrian refugees who are camping without even the simple things we have to keep warm like blankets and sweaters. It's a sobering situation, and close to home for us since the border is less than an hour away. If you'd like to help you can check out this site.
Today's freebie is 3 metal brad templates. Enjoy!

About Me
Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!
I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!
I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!
If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.

oh no, I hope you can find some warmth soon!! Thank you so much for the beautiful brad templates!!
I've been whining about our $200 electric bill to warm our little 900 SF condo this past month. But I am so happy we have heat. Your post really puts perspective to the situation. thanks for the brads!
super cool - i love these! smoochas gracias!
Thank you for these, I'm loving your 30 days of Christmas!!
oh i really like these.
Nice freebie(Thanks!) wonder how to use...
It truly is a sobering thought to be celebrating the holidays, when there are others that don't even have the basics. May the people of Jordan find peaceful answers. That you for the great downloads today, and keep warm. Tell us about the teas you like to drink. Is there a tea shop nearby?
Pretty stuff - tyvm!
Thank you for all the freebies you have been giving out! I have just caught on to this about a week ago. :) I love your site and was following it for quite awhile now, since b4 the changes.
I hope it doesn't get too cold for you, we just had a hurricaine here about a month ago, and we had to leave and stay with a relative, but the hurricaine knocked out power, so we had no heat, hot water etc. It definately makes us appreciate what we have, when we don't have it. So I feel for you and wish you warmth!
thank you! me likey metal thingies!
Very cute, thanks! I hope that you can stay warm this winter and that the fuel situation becomes more tolerable for the poor people without the luxuries so many of us take for granted.
wow that's crazy! I didn't know it could get so cold over there. I'm sorry to hear it's hard to heat up your house.
wow! I never realized how cold it could get in the middle east. It is really unfortunate that fuel costs are so high considering the area of the world you live in. My heart goes out to all people who are displaced around the world but especially in areas where it is so cold outside. People should not have to live like that.
Thanks for the Day 11 freebies.
Hearing about these things really makes me appreciate the comforts that we sometimes take for granted. And thanks for the brad templates, I really like them.
Sorry for your temperatures there. I am in California and although it sounds crazy it has been really cold (for us) lately and I try not to put on the heat. We like to keep the windows open even if slightly at night so we just bundle up a little more! Thanks for the templates - I really want to hone my designing skills in the new year!
Here in Germany it is snowing and it's cold too. Thanks a lot for these great brad-templates. I love to work with them :)

Thank you, !!!
thanks for the brad templates.
Thank you for day 11. We pay huge amounts for propane each winter. I still use a space heater by my computer and an electric blanket. You should get one for the sofa. It will keep you toasty.
I so hate to be cold...hope it warms up for you and your family soon. Thank you for the templates.
