Captain Obvious

By Marisa Lerin Thu, 08/21/2014 - 17:22

For you today I have an obvious realization. I often have these, and I like to share them anyway because I figure if I'm slow enough to take this long to figure it out, surely I'm not the only one (I console myself with this thinking at least).

I'm about 110% sure that most of you do this already, but I'm really quite thrilled with myself and I'm going to write about it anyway. Are you ready?

New Bundle: Slovenia

By Marisa Lerin Mon, 08/18/2014 - 11:05

I've started to go back into the archives to pull ideas for themes for my kits. Today I have a bundle inspired by my family's time in Slovenia. My parents lived there for one year, and visiting was a European fantasy come true. When we went, it was my first time to Europe and I feel like there is not a better country in Europe to visit. The capital city, Ljubljana, has a beautiful river running through it, with beautiful old buildings lining the side.

Pass the Kit Designer Challenge

By Marisa Lerin Mon, 08/11/2014 - 09:41

For the last few weeks some of us have been working on a super fun challenge in the designer challenge forum. We call it "Pass the Kit" and several designers worked together to create a kit together. I started by emailing a palette to the first member in each group. Each group then worked on developing their own kit by adding one item each and then sending it on to the next person. We went round and round for two weeks. It was super fun and I'm excited to share the results with you today.

What I Read in July

By Marisa Lerin Thu, 08/07/2014 - 13:31

I've always been a big reader, but lately I've started keeping a more extensive to-read list, which has been inspiring me to read more, and to read better. I read some good books in July and I thought I'd share my favorite with you.

What I Read in July.

Where Did July Go?

By Marisa Lerin Tue, 08/05/2014 - 11:06

Somehow, we're almost a week into August already, and I'm sort of wondering where July went. This makes it clear why it's important to take photos, since otherwise this would remain a big mystery. This is a good reminder, because often when there's a moment when I could take a photo, I often think, "I don't really need a photo, I'll remember it." I'm not sure why I think this, since I don't have a lot of evidence to support it....Despite making lots of scrapbooks for many years, I still don't feel like I do a great job of capturing moments here and there.

July Layout Madness Success

By Marisa Lerin Mon, 08/04/2014 - 09:08

For the month of July we hosted a month long layout challenge encouraging people to set their own layout goal and then providing them with interesting and fun prompts to get started. We've done this sort of thing in the past, but this month was easily the best turn out we've had with over 450 layouts created! Way to go everyone! If this sounds like a fun time to you and you're sad that you missed it, don't worry! It will be happening again.
