Family Reunion

Just last week we were finishing up a family reunion which included all my Dad's siblings and their families, which totaled about 50 people, all of whom I hadn't seen in at least 5 years, if not double or triple that.

We all stayed at a small resort in Buena Vista, CO. We more or less filled the place up and there was lots of room for various lawn games and picnics.

We had lots of fun outings around the area: hiking, hot springs and zip-lining!

There was even a chance to win a little money.

I was involved in a couple projects to help get everyone in the family spirit. I'll share one now, and one I'll reveal later in the fall. I made my debut as a clothing designer. Specifically, sweatshirts! And yes, you can expect a space themed kit from my sometime in the future!

Great sweat shirt. We used to silk screen T-shirts for our boy scouts and it was a blast to have the boys involved in every phase of the process and they love it. Another fond memory that you have rescued from my stroke fogged brain. Thanks for sharing.

OMG, your sweatshirts are SO fun! Hubby used to make T-shirts when we were engaged, but we deceided to do it only in very small scale, because the profits weren´t good. They are fun to create, however, and sometimes I design and paint your own T-shirts...

Looks like a ton of fun... my brother lives in CO and he and his wife love it out there... they're constantly doing the things you mentioned... and can I just say I LOVE the sweatshirt design you made... that looks really awesome.... I love all the names interspersed through the field of stars... Glad you had fun!

Looks like a great place to met back up with the families! Making me really more sad to not be able to make our reunion next weekend. It's a big one, so we won't be missed, 150-200 people. They hold it every year, but it's been a long time since we were able to go.
Love how the dog posed for the group photo as well!
OKAY you're going to have to share some more of "There was even a chance to win a little money."? Do tell, do tell? My Aunts and Uncles are constantly looking for ideas to keep folks interested and coming. Dad just put up a notice that a group are going canoeing Thursday before the Saturday reunion...they were looking to put in the reservations.

Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!

I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!

I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!

If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.
