Sneak Peek Mood Board: Here & Now

Shaking things up a little this year, I thought you might be interested in how a bundle takes shape. I have a little sneak peek for you today, for my bundle coming on Monday, in the form of a mood board. These are a few of the main images I used to capture the inspiration of what I wanted to create and keep me on the right track. Often in digital scrapbooking design we're working with a general theme, not really specific to anything, which makes the designing quite tricky because it reality it still needs some sort of theme behind it. Even if it's an ethereal feeling in your mind you are trying to capture on the screen. The more general a theme you're going for, the more homework you need to do before starting, otherwise you'll be adrift with too many possibilities and not enough direction.

Here & Now Mood Board

Clockwise from top left (middle last): Wrapping Paper, How Strange It Is, Tree Print, Labels, Flasks, Collage, Invitation

I hope you like what you see here, because come Monday there will be no escaping it! (It's a big one.)

I collect idea like this in Pinterest and Evernote, but I have never thought of making them into a moodboard to have them all together. Great idea!

My husband and I were JUST talking about "project management" the other day - because I said that I felt like I lacked creativity, when in actuality, I just lack project management skills. LOL.
I LOVE seeing this mood board, and I am really excited for a new bundle (I am ALWAYS excited for a new bundle here). And as other have stated, I would LOVE to see more of your process - maybe I could learn something to help my project management issues. LOL! *heart*

Wow, Marisa! The second half of your last sentence really hit home..I am a willy nilly sort of designer. I hardly ever know what direction I am going until I start and it takes me to where I end up. This concept of planning so efficiently is something I would need to really work on! Thanks so much for sharing.

Love it! I do make mood boards a lot. It is one of my favorite things to do. I love the colors you used and the idea for your new bundle.

I love the elements going into this bundle ... I love black and white stripes, white polka dots but I've never thought of using one digitally ... will have to do that ... thank you :)

I love that Neutral Milk Hotel quote/word art passionately! I even made a paper with it (purely as a design exercise) for the Paper-A-Day challenge we had a few years back. (https://eversoscrumptiously.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/ps_paper17_words.jpg) I only recently realized how helpful it is to make my own mood board in Photoshop rather than just a Pinterest board, because it allows me to see everything at once and arrange and size things in ways that feel intuitive to me, so it's very cool to see one of yours!

what an awesome idea... to create a mood board to keep you focused on a design theme... totally going to do this from now on! Well, whenever I get around to picking up my designer hat anyway, lol.

This new bundle looks really interesting, and it's also interesting to see how your work, Marisa. Actually, I'd love you to go even further with showing us how you design!

really nice to see how you work, thanks for the peek! i didn't know it's called a "mood board", but i'm sort of making one as well - basically collecting a bunch of images from pinterest that help those creative juices flowing :)
though (in my case), i find it can be extremly dangerous: the more i look at other peoples work, the more likely i am to start copying them. which is the worst. on the other hand, i don't think there's nothing radicaly new you could design, that hasn't already been designed... (the other day i made a doodle i thought was totaly original, only to find out later pinterest was already flooded with it) so i'm having mixed feelings about this...
