About Me
I'm a 40-something woman with way too much time on my hands! I'm an avid camper, kayaker, animal lover, amputee, and very proud Aunt to 2 newly adopted, amazing kids (which is good, as they make up most of my scrapbooking!). I live with my 2 dogs Cody & Kaylynn, cat Akasha, conure Sprite (the fairy, not the soft drink...) and fish who are, sadly, unnamed.

Digital Scrapbook LayoutDescription
The second page of a 2 page spread. This one shows my tree and talks about Yule trees and their decorations - what they are, why they're chosen, and why a tree is brought indoors in the first place.
I cheated again - using another layout template by Marisa Lerin (set #6). And thanks again to the person who taught me how to put text in a shape - I love doing that!
Journaling reads...
After 4 years I was finally able to have a proper Yule celebration in 2014. A tree is brought indoors, providing a safe & warm place for woodland spirits to rest & recharge during the winter. Attracted by the walnuts & cranberries used to decorate the tree (and maybe a candy cane or 2), you’ll know when fairies or other spirits are present by the ringing of bells that hang from the branches. White lights call for the return of the sun, and a robin’s nest symbolizes the return of the Oak King and new life. Small disks of oak painted with symbols of the god and images of the sun also hang from the boughs, as do ornaments made from antlers and holly. A pentagram made from twigs tops the tree, honoring the 4 elements and our spirit, the symbol of my faith. On December 21st the tree remains lit all day and night, heralding the return of the sun.
Blessed Be!
