Digital Scrapbook LayoutDescription
My nephew, sister and brother-in-law are all excellent photographers and have Nikons with all the lenses and gadgets needed. My sister has been teaching me and giving me some tips and I am having a blast. I own a Fugi which I have managed to get some amazing photos with considering it's and my limitations. I wanted to share one event that most photographers worth any salt would have deleted and been done with. I had such a fun experience taking these that I though it would be great to share. Photography works so well with scrapbooking both passions of mine. When I grow up I hope to get a better camera but in the meantime what I have is working just fine.

I love this layout--it reminds me of some of the first fireworks shots I took. :) Photos with technical imperfections that still manage to capture the feeling and memory. I especially love the lower-right one--the shutter vibration blur actually makes that shot far more interesting.
As far as upgrading your camera... what a friend told me when I wanted to start doing photography and asked for a camera suggestion within my budget was "You can learn composition and lighting with anything, even your cell phone. Upgrade when your camera's capabilities start limiting your ability to capture the shot--there's no sense in having a $800 camera and still taking badly composed, blurry, amateur shots when you can do the same thing with a $100 pocket-sized camera. All that bigger camera will do for you in the meantime is give you lots more settings to confuse you, and more weight to carry around." I shot with my cell phone for a couple of months, and got some great shots with it (one that made the cut for a photography exhibition, even!!) before upgrading to a cheap GE point-n-shoot that had some manual features. That $70 camera lasted 3 years until I upgraded to a DSLR. That said, I still take shots with my phone part of the time, if I don't have my DSLR along--"the best camera for the moment is the one you have with you!!"
perfect scrap, if you ask me! a good, high-quality, super focused photo practically scraps itself- the real challenge is making the most of blurry, tiny orwhatever photos. and this one is even funnier with that mastercard logo!
Love how you did the journalling - that definitely sounds like a priceless experience ;)
