PS: Please help with question on PS Creative Suite

Price isn't too bad on this Creative Suite. Could those that have or just with experience with PS tell me what you think of this special I found. I will never be able to afford the full blown PS so checking for other options. Don't get me wrong I love my PSE but when I see all of you that have the full blown PS I feel like I am missing out on some things. Please give me your opinion on this product or any other suggestions. Thanks so much for all of your help.

That site looks rather fishy, I probably wouldn't trust it myself. There's a chance the software could be pirated, or something else is going on. I suppose if you paid with a credit card, you could always do a charge back if things didn't turn out well.

I wouldn't trust that site either. Recently on another forum, the lady saw a deal on PS and bought it, and it was a disc full of viruses. I hope you find something though. Personally, if you're not into designing, I wouldn't worry about missing out on anything. Lots of ppl use PSE!!

I do love designing and can accomplish it in the different programs I have such as Corel Draw, Serif Craft Artist Pro, Photoshop Elements and Inkscape so I really don't think I need it. Who knows what the future holds and maybe I will win the lottery or something and can get the full blown PS. Thanks for the advice though and the more I thought about the site I too thought it may not be safe but it is good to have more than one person to think the same thing.

To sell the software so cheap. It does not sound right. A valid key code?
There was the CS2 version that was free.
You also have the option of the cloud for a monthly fee.
Or if you are a student or know a student you can obtain a copy that way.

If you Google Adobe CS2 free download, the first link that pops up in search results brings you directly to the CS2 page for downloads and yes you can get it completely free. It's not the newest version of the creative suite but it's still super awesome. I've been using it for the last 10 months along with my PSE 10 so I can verify that it is true and totally awesome.

I second Sharilynn! CS2 has been fantastic, and you can't beat the price smiley

OK I tried the google search and this is what came up on the 1st one

Adobe has disabled the activation server for CS2 products, including Acrobat 7, because of a technical issue. These products were released more than seven years ago, do not run on many modern operating systems, and are no longer supported.
Adobe strongly advises against running unsupported and outdated software. The serial numbers provided as a part of the download may only be used by customers who legitimately purchased CS2 or Acrobat 7 and need to maintain their current use of these products.

Then I clicked on accept and it takes me to a page with a bunch of Photoshop products with serial numbers and CS2 is on there with a serial number.

I tried the next one on Google search which is http://www.techspot.com/downloads/3689-adobe-photoshop-cs2.html and don't know if it is legit or not.

I have Windows 7. Do you think it may make a difference compared to what you all have downloaded. Can you share with me the link where you downloaded as the search may be different if it has been that long since you downloaded.

I was really hoping this would work for me. Thanks so much for all your help.

https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2_downloads click on the Photoshop CS2 link next to Win and it'll download.

There is a great article about bogus OEM versions of software, Photoshop in particular, here.

http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/photoshop/f/cheapprice.htm

Also found this . . .

"On behalf of Adobe Systems Incorporated ...

There are no OEM versions of the Adobe Creative Suite or the applications therein. Various websites that offer such OEM versions of software, typically located in Eastern Europe, are using this as a ruse for offering illegal, pirated software.

(Note that this is not the same as buying a new computer with a pre-installed and paid for copy of an Adobe application - those applications are paid for and licensed just as a shrink-wrapped copy of an Adobe applications.)

Illegal, pirated software is obviously not upgradable and if you get caught with same, you face the same potential prosecution as anyone offering such counterfeit goods in the first place.

Hope that helps.

Thank you ladies for the great links. Pirated software can offer key codes, but may only work for a short time. You cannot update the software or receive tech support from Adobe. It may even contain spyware that may give the creator of the pirated software access to your computer as well as possible trojans or viruses. Something to be very carefull of.

Sharilynn, OK I downloaded it and now I need to learn how to use it. It has some similarities to PSE 10 but so far I haven't seen anything except the pen tool that is a great advantage. It doesn't have as many filters. Maybe as I play with it some more I will discover more advantages. They also had Illustrator and In Design. Do I need to download those? What are your thoughts Sharilynn comparing CS2 to PSE 10 since you have both? Thanks again to all of you for your help/advice on this.

I'm still learning how to use it but as time goes on you'll see more and more differences/advantages compared to Elements. I love having both. You only need to download Illustrator and In Design if you want them, so that's up to you.

I'm going to post a few links that should hopefully help you out because I'm terrible and explaining things haha smiley

Hope they help!

Great links. Don't forget that Marisa has a great wealth of tutorial also.

There is also a list of tutorial:

You will find that there are more tools and options. You will find more filters, styles, and brushes for Photoshop. Photoshop Elements is a scaled down version of Photoshop, so you may find that the basic transition will be easy.

Thanks Sharlynn and Judy for all the links. They are definitely going to help a lot. Back to checking them out.

Now I am puzzled. What on earth could be wrong? Now I can't get PSE 10 to work.
It says Runtime Error! Program C: Program Files(x.. This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact support team for more info.
Please help since I downloaded CS2 this started. I have been just trying to learn the program and had not tried to open PSE10 and then this keeps happening. Does anyone have any suggestions before I contact support? I have tried shutting down my computer and that did not help. Please Please HELP. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Sharilynn, Did you have any problems when you originally downloaded CS2 with PSE10 working for you?

Did you try to reinstall PSE. It sounds like something changed in the registery and a reinstall should fix it.

I've had no problems with anything since downloading CS2. Both CS2 and PSE11 work perfect on my computer and my old laptop. I'm not sure what could be wrong but like Judy said, a reinstall should fix it.

I am sorry to keep bothering you all about this and sorry to keep this going on and on. I just really appreciate your help.

I finally after trying to reinstall with my dvd I received when I purchased PSE 10 and that would not work to reinstall so I kept researching and researching because I think I just did the 30 day trial originally so I had it already on my computer and then I just paid for it requesting the dvds to come with so then all I had to do was put in my serial number and it was done so never used the dvds and now I find out they do not work. Whew! what a job figuring out how to reinstall but I finally got it reinstalled.

Now decisions, decisions. Before all that, I uninstalled the CS2 since I believe that is what made my PSE10 not work. I still have the CS2 file to download on my desktop. Do I reinstall it? I wonder if it was because they were both installed in the folder Program Files (86). If I choose another folder to install CS2 maybe it will not cause a problem for my PSE 10. I really was starting to really like CS2 but do not want to give up my PSE10. What do you all think about installing it in a different folder?

CS2 and PSE10 will be fine installed in the same Program Files folder, that's exactly how mine are installed. I'm not sure what the problem would be with your PSE10 because CS2 shouldn't have anything to do with why PSE10 is malfunctioning. I think there might be something else that was causing issues with PSE10. If it were me, I wouldn't move CS2 to a different folder; I'd leave them both under Program Files (86).

Do not move the folder from the Program Files (86) - this is what allows a 32 bit program run on a 64 bit system. If you are worried you can also run the program in compatability mode. Allow it to run with the settings of an older operating system.

You should be able to run both programs together. I have run two different Software suites on the same system with no problem.

I did it and they both are running ok now. Thanks again for all the help. I don't know what made PSE do that but at least it's ok now finally. I am figuring out CS2 and liking it more and more. Thanks again for the help getting that too. I may be back if I need help figuring out how to do something and I hope you all don't mind.

Well, it's me again with another problem. Since I reinstalled PSE I don't have all of my styles showing anymore. They are in the windows where they were installed originally before reinstalling PSE but they do not show when opening PSE. Does anybody know how I can fix this without messing anything else up. I hope there's an easy fix because I really have/had some great styles installed in PSE. Please help. Thanks in advance if there's anyone that knows what I can do.

You have to reinstall. In Photoshop you go to styles than select. Either copy and past the styles to PSE or tell PSE where to find your styles.

I am sorry maybe I am not explaining very well but I had to reinstall before when I installed CS2 and now I discovered some of my styles are not there when I open PSE. When I go to where all my files are in Windows/C Drive they are there so I don't understand what you mean to copy and paste to where or how do I tell PSE where to find them. I am sorry I am so dumb about this but have never had any problems like this until I installed the CS2. After I did what you all said to fix I thought everything was fine until I went to use one of my styles and then discovered it kinda looks like all the ones I installed a while ago are the ones missing when I am using PSE but they are in the folder where they are supposed to be in windows/C Drive. Thanks for your help.

I know with Photoshop if you paste a style to the Photoshop style folder it shows up. If it does not or if you lose a style. An option. open something that you used the style with. Click on the style in the layers panel to view, edit the style. Save it as a new style. Now you have the style back.

PSE doesn't allow me to paste anything. If I can find anything I used my style with that is worth a try. I haven't seen anywhere you can save a new style to so I guess I will just start over and add styles as I see them. I just can't understand why they are in the styles folder and don't show up when PSE is opened. Oh well, Thanks so much for all your help again.
