Anyone have any suggestions for a book in January?
How about Nicholas Sparks' Choice, I read an it was pretty good
The Chosen by Chaim Potok or Moon over Manifest by Clare Vanderpool
What about the last Dan Brown´s? If I´m not mistaken, it´s name is Inferno.
I don't know if anyone is up for short story anthology, but I thought we could read something of Alice Munro's since she won the last Nobel prize.
The short stories is an interesting idea. Seems like it would be easy for people to pop in for a story or all of them.
I'm not a fan of short stories. I like something I can get my teeth into.
This sounds fun. I am currently looking or a good book. I would suggest Me & Emma by Elizabeth Flock. The book is definitely not what it seems.
Another book would be a Thousand Splendid Suns. I loved/hated this book so much. It gave me a view of middle eastern culture and definitely made me examine my perspective of the world.
What is the medium for books for most people? I pretty much am 100% Kindle content and am so excited about the self-published authors. However my taste is, shall we say, electic, so I am concerned about recommending anything to a large group!
I'm a paper lover - love to hold them and see them on the shelves. I only get rid of them if I really did not like them. The house is bursting at the seams!!
Something really light for January would be great! Nicholas Sparks has a lot of really good books, I would love to do something of his.
I do love Nicholas Sparks too. I'm up for a good cry-fest.
Tiffany if you want a cry-fest Nicholas Sparks' The Choice would be perfect. A real tear-jerker!
I am a new member here and would love to join your reading group. I love Nicholas Sparks also.
When will be book be chosen, and how long will we have to read it?
I have heard a lot about The Choice and have been meaning to read it for a while. That would be a great one to do!
Hi All! Has a book been decided on? I'd love to join in!
Yes, anything Nicholas Sparks!!
Was a book decided? I really like the idea of exploring my other interests as well!
Anita I don't think anything has been decided for January.
I have to finish "war and Peace" (almost done), then I am up for short stories of Alice Munro
I am open to doing this. Sounds like a ton of fun. Not a fan of shot stories. I think you should post a survey of some choices.
Maybe we should decide something for march survey sounds good!
I would be also up for something classic, like Werther by Goethe or Tell by Schiller. Or what do you think about The Master and Margarita by Bulgakov? I also would like to read The Hand of Fatima by Ildefonso Falcones… What are your suggestions?
