DigiScrapedia: what's the different between papers and overlay

hello, I just knew digiscrap for 2 years now, on and off using Serif Digital Scrapbook Artist, so, i skip some of the basic stuff about it. :p
could anyone help me about what's the different between papers and overlay that we can download in templates page? and how can i use overlay? thanks for your answers..

Hi! An overlay is a design that can be applied over another piece of scrap paper, i.e., an overlay can be on a transparent background, so the original paper shows through the overlay - An example could be an overlay that only have grungy edges, so that it can be applied to another pretty paper in your kit. I'll load an example for you.

There are four images here. The two on the left are overlays. The top one is used to add a design to my pink paper on the right. The bottom overlay is used to create a texture on my pink paper, shown on the right, bottom.

Hope this helps! Others will be able to provide more info, should mine be too vague......

Thanks for asking the question!
