Cutting through woodgrain papers in a believable way

I have had a layout on hold for months, because I couldn't figure out how to cut holes in my wooden background paper in a believable way. The 'normal' cutout circles just looked weird; you can never cut through wood as you would with paper. It irritated me too bits and finally I just gave up on it. And then I found this tutorial via Pinterest. YAY! I am so going to try this tonight! Maybe you have had the same troubles, maybe not, but if you ever want to 'cut up' your woodgrain papers, this is the way to do it:

That's a nice tutorial. I knew how to do it in PSP, but I'm not very good with Photoshop yet, so this helps a lot. Thank you for sharing that with us!

Awesome! Thanks for sharing this!!

thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for sharing.

This is not something I've tried out yet, but I know once I did it would have bugged me the same way it bugged you, so thank you SO much! I've pinned this to my scrapbooking tutorials board & I know I'll be coming back to it.
