Digital Scrapbooking with others

Hi, I just found this site and decided that I would join. I am looking for other people to get together with for a day of scrapping. I live in Anacortes, Washington so some where close to that would make me happy. I can drive a little if need be... Thank you for reading and look forward to hearing from some fellow scrappers....

That is a fun idea! Too bad I live in the Netherlands... But there is bound to be someone close to you!

Hello Debbie,
Anacortes, Washington is so pretty there. My husband and I were there a couple of summers ago and really enjoyed our time there.
Do you have any scrapbooking stores in the area? They usually sponsor scrapping days.

Also check on Meetup.com; often local scrapbooking stores sponsor meetup groups there. My local one has weekly crops, and a monthly digital crop which sometimes includes goodies.

That's a good idea and a lot of fun. We used to have a digital scrapbooking group at our local computer club and we would sometimes meet for just a day of scrapping. It was fun to walk around and look at the different layouts on everyone's monitor in the computer room and share information on where we got our scrap supplies from.

I think it would be neat to do a "swap layout" (there might be an actual name for it). Where you send someone a few of your pictures & journaling and they build a page for you, and vice versa. I've seen them done, using the same kits but you wouldn't have to. You could probably both present it in your galleries, as well, and just tag all the essentials.

This is a cool idea that I've never seen/done...is there a site that does these?

Not really sure. I've seen it done in the Creating Keepsakes scrapbook magazine.

@ Taren & Katherine -- Keep you eye on the Layout Challenges, last month during the winter layout madness they did a photo swap challenge where you traded picture for someone else. I don't know how successful it was or wasn't, but it seemed like it got a good response.

@ Debra-- in addition to the local scrap stores or meetup, I would also suggest checking the library. Sometimes they'll host get-togethers so that like minded people can hang out and do something they love. (Or if you're feeling extra spunky volunteer to organize an event for them).

Thanks Christi!
Taren

I think the Photo swaps are going well during the Layout Madness month. But, if you don't want to wait another six minths, why not put in a request in the Layout Challenges forum?
