I don't know what happened to me on Thursday, but I completely forgot to post a new challenge. No wait, I do know what happened. Jordan bought the new SimCity game and I decided to take the afternoon off...
Anyway, there was some interest in a template challenge, so I thought we'd go for that. Here's the template for this challenge:

This is probably a silly question, but I've never participated in a challenge like this one. When we do our layout are we limited to exactly what we see...a background, one picture, a title and 3-5 elements/papers? Or are we allowed more elements as long as we stay with the basic template?
The template is just a jumping off point. Feel free to change it however you like.

My first challenge!
I never used a template before.. normally i put the elements and photos in the place that just feels right. Now the places were already defined. This was a new experience..

Fun challenge, my layout is already on the gallery:
I needed to create another cluster in a place where there werent any because my picture had a failure on that spot that I needed to crop. It was taken in a very messy place (ooops!)

I've never used a template before, but I'm going to try! Later ... because my computer time is up.
Hoo boy was this ever hard. I knew the photo I wanted to use, because it was a single photo and I couldn't decide what to do with it on my own. I usually like a grouping. Then, the colors in the photo were perfect for some of the colors from the Balkans kit ... but I wasn't happy with any of the papers as a background! Well, I finally picked the one I like best, but I might download some more of the Balkans papers and play with others just to see.
Nice rendition, Andrea. I like the dark background and the elements are perfect for the photo.

My entry for the template challenge. It was a true challenge for me to work around a pre-defined layout but a learning experience.
