April Paper a Day Challenge: Week 2

Great papers as always! I'm closing this thread, but you can continue posting your papers here.

--

This designer challenge will run the entire month of April. The goal is to make a paper a day. If you don't have time everyday to participate, that's okay; there will be wiggle room to play catch up. Everyday I will post a theme for you to use. Before we start you can give some thought to what color palette you would like to use and what you'd like to do with your finished product, which should be 30 papers. (Here's a link to my pinterest board for color palettes.)

In this thread you may post:

  1. Questions and comments on completing each paper theme.
  2. Finished papers and/or templates. You may of course post small thumbnail images if you are saving the finished product for something.
  3. I'll post a new thread each week so that things don't get too out of hand.
  4. Don't worry if you're behind or starting in the middle, feel free to share whatever you make.

April Paper a Day Challenge Week 1 Themes
Monday, April 8: Alphabet or Numbers
Tuesday, April 9: Painted
Wednesday April 10: Multiple Patterns
Thursday April 11: Border
Friday April 12: Scatter/Irregular Pattern
Saturday April 13: Start with a Photo
Sunday April 14: Damask

If you have any ideas for paper themes, please comment here. Also let me know which ones sounds best to you.

Oops...I'm a bit late for the stars papers. Anywhoo...here's my submission. Again, the papers will be put into a pack at the end of the month. I found the Photoshop shapes at Shapes4Free. There's lots of great resources there!

Here's my alphabet:

Looks great!!

Great job Marisa. This looks really fun for a grade scrap.

Day 8_ Alphabet or Numbers

This is a design I never would have created on my own, but I really like it in the end. That is why challenges like this that push us to think beyond what we usually do, are such a great way for everyone to grow creatively. Thanks again, Marisa for challenging me and thanks to all the oh-so talented participants and cheerleaders that are making this endeavor such a success!

@Janet S - I LOVE Shapes4Free!!!

I admit: I've used an overlay. I couldn't create something decent by myself...

btw these are my colors for this week:

Phew! My inspiration is flagging. I can't tell if it's just general tiredness from the paper-a-day pace or if it has something to do with the fact that I don't really like patterned paper. The closer it gets to an actual recognizable object (like from stripes to stars to letters) the less I tend to be drawn to the pattern. Unless it's birds! smiley I know that I could come up with creative ways to work around this, but that's where the tiredness comes in. Anyways, this one is pretty routine, but I almost didn't make one for today, so at least it's something.

ok so I got behind on the weekend so here are the geometric and star papers I made:

I got a little carried away with the stars smiley

For these two papers I created a pattern block from 2 vintage prints. And here is my numbers!

You can download the full size at www.craftingwithjack.weebly.com

Marisa, I like your number/letters, very lively. Great colors
Janet, love. Love, love your stars
Holly, all your papers have been awesome. You do subtle very well, something I admire and aspire to achieve
Saskia, you did a very nice job with the over lay. Choosing colors is the most important part for me.
Violet, I understand what you"re saying about inspiration. It doesn't"t come on command and every day is a lot to ask of the muse
Jenny, the stars are great. I can foresee many uses for these papers
Angela, love the block numbers. Good paper for school layouts

I still owe you some papers smiley This is yesterdays, you´ll see that the color palette is different. This paper will actualy go to the other kit:

Here are my stars for day 7... will be back later with day 8!

Here is my number paper. For some reason I just had to have a little piece of PI.

kept it simple

Chikie, just loved your idea of a Pi paper.

One more is already done - Paper05 - leaves:

I've always dreamed of a blank brick wall and a bunch of spray paint!

@Harriett, thanks so much. It was a bit of a last minute job. I had a tough time figuring out how to do something other than traditional stars.

Here's my alphabet paper. This one was a toughie for some reason. Creativity just wasn't there for me this time around. smiley

@Marisa, I think we have nearly the same color pallet. Between the two of us, there's going to be a HUGE amount of matching papers. smiley

Just posted today's theme: Painted!

@Janet: In the beginning I didn't think we had the similar colors and I was kind of jealous of yours, but now....

Ha...nope I think they're pretty darn close. I've been eyeballing your papers and getting excited to combine them with mine in a layout. smiley

Here's my painted paper. PS: Brooke has some great brushes here if you need them.

Looks awesome Marisa!

Here is my paper for today:

I'm a little late starting this challenge, but I wanted to join in the fun

My painted paper

I tried painting a flower, but gave that up!! The top one is called "Rainy Seas", and the ones underneath "Grassy"
I did the Grassy ones with a brush called Fuzzball!

It looks as if I have got two posts, don't know how that happened. Can you delete one please Marisa.

Edit: I deleted the duplicate
- Lórien :)
