March 2018 Blog Train - Comments

Please use this thread for any comments, questions, thanks, etc you have for our designers participating in the blog train. To see the blog train list, visit this post.

Please remember that the blog train does not go live until March 1, so the actual freebie on the blog may not yet be posted.

So many pretty things, this month! I just love this palette. I especially love the papers by Danielle and the blendable accents by Sunny.

thanks so much to all the designers ))))))

Thank you so much for all the hard work you each put into your lovely designs... and thank you for letting us enjoy them free!

Marcy Coate: Love your alpha set for this blog train! I don't tend to use alphas, myself, but I was interested in finding a way to use yours; however, I am not willing to donate, nor provide my email to gain permission to download, sorry...(blog trains should have NO strings attached).

@Rose - I use Gumroad to host my freebies because it costs me nothing, and unlike Dropbox or Google Drive (or others) it gives me stats on what people are downloading so that I can better understand what types of products my followers like (or aren't so crazy about). Just about every freebie site in the world asks people for their email address, and since I spend a good chunk of time every week creating freebies for my followers, I frankly don't see that I'm doing anything reprehensible. Over 600 people are subscribed to my mailing list, and I've never had a complaint about abuse. If you're still not OK with it, that's your choice. I make no apologies for my choice, though.

PS: When you say you're not willing to "donate", I hope you didn't think you have to make a purchase. Enter the number 0 in the price field, and it will let you download for free. That's Gumroad's way of doing things, not mine.

To Violet Irisovna and everybody else:

I know that I will get criticism for this, but I really don't want to see partisan Politics crossing over to Scrapbook items. I come to DigitalScrapbook.com (and I think many people here do the same) to relax and forget about my worries, whether creating my own layouts or sharing my designs...I don't need to be reminded of all the mess that's happening in our world lately.

I am so tired of seeing everything being politicized nowadays, I even had to stop following Facebook pages for J.R.R.Tolkien Society, Who Do You Think You Are and Ancestry Magazine. Scrapbooking is my last haven so please, I respectfully request to all of you to not bring Politics into DigitalScrapbook.com...thank you.

Marcy: I'm sorry if I have offended you, that certainly was not my intention! Neither was I trying to communicate any wrong-doing on your part. I actually intended to compliment you (which, I believe I did) and also express my opinion on blog trains (as I have more fully done here). I guess the two should not co-mingle.

Looking forward to downloading all these wonderful parts to the Love Knows No Boundaries Blog Train! Thank you all for your hard work! Have a great month!

As always - a fantastic blogtrain! smiley

I couldn't Find Sonia Roman papers for her March blog train. Again
Thank you so much for March lovely Blog Train.

Beautiful blog train submissions, all!

In case you went to click on my blog and it brought you back to DigitalScrapbook.com (IDK what happened there!), the link to my blog is now fixed!

Thank you, Carole!!! smiley

Great work, ladies! Violet, I think your offering this month is awesome! I've seen plenty of Conservative Christian images in the Scrapbooking world, which I don't agree with, so I just don't download it or, if I like any of the kit, I download it and throw away the parts I don't want. You are, after all, giving this to us for free, spending a great deal of time and effort on it. The figures are very well done, btw. Thank you!

I am not sure where to post this question, so I will ask it here. I have seen a few .rar files posted the last few months and my laptop doesn't seem able to open them. Apparently there is an application I need, but I am so technologically naive that I am not even sure what I need. Any suggestions that are good, but also safe? Thanks!

Bitser is what I use, it allows you to extract multiple zip/rar folders at once into their own respective folders. I love it!

Madge, I think it depends on which operating system (OS) you use. If you're using Windows, then, I suggest you use 7zip. You can find it here.

Thanks, Rose... I am using Windows...

@Deborah Blodget: I was talking about Politics, especially Partisan Politics which is what the "Women's" March actually is...why bring this division here to a scrapbook community? I am totally fine with Pagan, Christian, Jewish etc. scrapbook kits.

What is really tiring, and extremely annoying is the recent practice of politicizing everything...it seems nothing is safe from it.

smiley However much I don't like politics invading every aspect of life, if there is someone who scraps and gives away their art freely, I just don't download. (LOL, sometimes it inspires me to make something with the opposite view)

Every designer has their own opinion, their own belief system, their own creative vision.
Here they present to us their work (with pride and accomplishment IN that work, because of all they put into it of themselves) and offer it for free.

One of the most beautiful, wonderful, fantastic things about DigitalScrapbook.com is that here we have the option to take what we like and leave what we don't.

Daniela, it is tiring and annoying when our world is full of hate and division on every side of every issue.
But I think, here, that Violet's contribution to the March Blog Train is appropriate because of the theme.

I may or may not agree with Violet's views on anything political, but I appreciated her kit because
I think we each have something we might protest or march for or feel very strongly about, BECAUSE "Love Knows No Borders". We each LOVE someone or a country or a pet that has been through horrible things, and it's because of that love for them that we have such strong opinions.

Whether I use Violet's pre-made signs or not, the kit is useful to me if I want to say ANYTHING and write up my own words to put on the signs.

Violet, I appreciate that you chose to provide blank signs as well as the signs pre-made.
Thank you for designing a very useful kit!

@Sonia - I want to take your little piggies and give them a BIG CUDDLE! They're so cute!

As usual everything else is gorgeous but PIGGIES!

@Madge I think some of my files are .rar files. I can't get the zip programs to run on my computer (windows too!!) so I have Winrar it does give me the option to compress as .zip. I can also decompress .rar and .zip files. If one of my uploads is a .rar file and you need it .zip I would be happy to send it to you if its not on the drive already.

Nice train ladies.

Melissa, I used Rose's suggestion of 7zip and I was able to open your file. Thanks for the offer, though. Now, if only I could remember where I saw those other .rar files.... smiley
