Continuing Our Coronavirus Donation Drive
Last month Jordan and I wrote a forum post titled “Helping each other weather Coronavirus,” where we asked for ideas and shared a little bit about our vision for how DigitalScrapbook.com might play some small part in helping our members weather the current global health crisis--specifically by being a place of support, refuge, and community in the face of the social isolation that has resulted for so many of us during this time.
We also pledged to donate all new subscription income from March to charities that are working directly to help the most at-risk members of our communities weather the COVID-19 storm. I am pleased to announce that we received $1146 in new subscription income, which we rounded up to $1200 and have just donated in equal parts to Meals on Wheels and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Meals on Wheels works to deliver meals to people who are unable to purchase or prepare their own (which is especially vital for elderly people during this pandemic), and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has set up a fund to accelerate a COVID-19 cure and combat the virus worldwide.
Thank you to everyone who subscribed during this period to help make this donation possible, and thank you to all of our community members who have come together to support and encourage each other in this time of crisis!
Because things are still getting worse for many people around the world--especially in many areas where people are least equipped to deal with an emergency of this magnitude--we have decided to continue our Coronavirus subscription drive, and again donate all new subscription income that we receive in April to charities that are working with the most at-risk members of our communities. We don’t yet know the full extent to which this emergency is going to impact DigitalScrapbook.com, but we do know that there are many people out there who are in a worse place than we are. This time around we will be donating to the International Rescue Committee and Direct Relief, two highly-transparent and efficient organizations that are working around the clock to get food, medical supplies, and basic necessities to the people who need them most during this unfolding crisis.
So once again, if you are not currently a DigitalScrapbook.com subscriber, consider signing up for unlimited downloads and hunkering down for some serious scrapbooking, knowing that 100% of our new subscription income from April will be put to use to help others.
Let’s continue to come together, support each other, and do what we can to help each other make it through this difficult time. Thank you all for being part of our generous and caring global community!
P.S. If you are a current Patron, or have other benefits on our site because of being a long-term subscriber, and find yourself needing to cancel your subscription because of current financial difficulties, please reach out to us and let us know your situation. We have options that will let you pause your current subscription and continue at a later date without penalty once things have returned to a better place.

About Me
Hi There! I’m Marisa Lerin and you’ll see me around at DigitalScrapbook.com a lot. I started this site in 2010 soon after I discovered a new love in digital scrapbooking. DigitalScrapbook.com has gone through some significant changes since that time and it’s grown into this lovely community site you are seeing now. I am daily surprised by the turn of life’s events that has led me down this path. If you're new to the site, welcome! Here are a few tidbits about me that I hope will help you get to know me better!
I’m originally from Minnesota, USA, but spent a good chunk of my childhood living abroad (in Bolivia and Hong Kong). I returned to Minnesota to attend university, got married and then moved overseas again (Korea, then Jordan and 1 year of traveling). My designs are heavily influenced by these many nomadic years. I am currently back in the USA, now living in the great state of Oregon!
I have no official training for what I’m doing, since I decided very wisely (haha) to study physics in university. I am always learning new things about digital scrapbooking, and this community has been immensely helpful for that!
If I manage to stop digital scrapbooking you will probably find me watching TV, reading or baking. I also enjoy writing for the blog here at DigitalScrapbook.com where I talk about whatever happens to be catching my fancy at the moment.
