Happy Canada Day (July 1st)

Tomorrow July 1st, is Canada's 153rd birthday.

Although this year is very different than oothers with many, many challenges, I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Canada Day.

smiley Have a good one!

happy canada day

To both of you as well. Bina are you Canadian too?

Anne, no I am not but I hope you had a great day! smiley

This is kinda off topic, but sometimes I wish there were more canadian digi scrap websites and resources cause its more expensive for us to buy U.S. Does anyone else find this? thanks

Bina, thank you for ours wishes. it was a good day (quiet) although very different than past ones (no local parades, no fireworks displays at our local municipal offices)

Yes, Sarah it is more expensive for us Canadians and I really have found almost no Canadian digital scrap sites and resources. (I've designed bunch of Canadian themed elements recently to fill the gap of elements and uploaded them here in the commons.) There's 2 reasons - their population is 10 times as many people as ours in Canada (therefore much more demand) and historically our dollar has almost always been lower than ours. (I'm 64 and it's only been higher twice in my lifetime, the last time was in 1974 when we had runaway inflation.)

Hah. US dollar can be so expensive. I wish I could buy so much but gotta be careful. But it's like that for everyone. Thanks.

Sarah, I know what you mean. I started making my own elements & paper & got a subscription here for that reason. I also find it interesting to make them.

My Canadian elements are here in the Commons (and all the other elements and papers I've made) & they are included with the subscription.

That issue of wanting to buy all the pretty things and not being able to afford it is a big part of why I originally got a subscription here. US disability income is too low for me to be buying much beyond essentials; one bundle at most shops blows out my scrapping budget for the month. So I put that budget toward a few decent buy-once programs and design now instead. smiley

Hope you've both had a happy Canada Day!

Holly, I know exactly how you feel. I too am on a limited budget and paying for my subscription to PS gets me lots of new goodies every month. Occasionally I can buy more bundles elsewhere - usually when they are on sale!! Usually I only buy Jessica's Bundles. I just love her designs.

Anne, I love your Canadian elements. Thank for creating them. It is long past time that we Canadians had our own elements.

We had a very quiet Canada day this week. Although the fireworks going off from 9 to 11 PM in the park right next door to our building were LOUD!!!!

I'm working on a few more Canadian crests. Hopefully 1 for each province and several for national parks. smiley

(I'm also working on some more for Europe/UK & some US national parks. I have plans for Australia & New Zealand too.)

Our Canada Day was quieter than usual although the neighbours did have over their grandchildren (part of their "bubble") and I did hear fireworks from people's houses (no big city displays and no local parade.)

Anne: I dl'ed some of your location crests, love them! smiley Thought I'd share this Canada Day layout by Dianne. Canada and Australia have more in common than English, a lot of space and a lot of resources smiley

Thank you for the compliment. As well, sharing the layout. It's fun to see the element used. smiley
