I looked to see if any one posted this yet and I did not see it and wanted to let everyone one know .. If you have Photoshop 2021 I just updated my Photoshop( date 11-24-2020) and they have some new features .. filters and a Pattern Preview
that works with seamless patterns .. I tried it out & I love & it will make things allot better making patterns in photoshop ..it is not Illustrator but a big improvement in Photoshop and pattern making .. you can edit it while you preview it ..

Here is a 2nd video ( below ) she goes in more detail about Pattern Preview and shows you how to use it
to find it go to View /Pattern View you will have to turn it on each time you make a pattern it does not stay automatic
