"Procreate"

I just admired a layout in the gallery and something called "procreate" was mentioned. Is it a way of making a layout? Sounds fascinating.

Hope it's okay to link:

ETA: I'm rejuvenating this post Peg started about 5-6 months back. smiley I found it very interesting and was curious now that we have a lot more members if there are more of you out there that use ipad, other android, or mobile devices for scrapping like Wren and amber and also any favs or tips for newbies y'all might have. :D

Based on her description I think it is an iPad app... I searched on google and found these:

Catherine is right. It's a $5 iPad art app. Lots of professional artists use it for making actual illustrations, but I use it for making art journal pages. It has layers like Photoshop which enables you to do use digital scrapbooking kits. You could actually do more traditional scrapbook pages easily. The only thing it doesn't have right now that would be nice to have for scrapbooking is a text tool, but it's not too complicated to import text from another program.

I took some digital art classes for iPad this summer by Sami Kira Harding and Traci Bautista. I believe they are both open for self paced study if you are interested in them.

I LOVE working on my iPad for art. It's so easy to drop it in my purse and take it with me. Procreate plays very well with dropbox so I'm able to access all of my digital kits easily even though I only have a 16GB device.

I can go on all day about Procreate. Seriously. Ask my husband, he knows. If you have any other questions, I'll try my hardest to answer them or find you a resource that will help you.

My husband has an ipad, but I don't have the patience right now to learn new things. And I find the screen too small to work on. My monitor on my desktop is 27 inches. Too much difference!

But thanks for letting me know what it is. Now I won't be mystified next time I come across the app.

For me the appeal is being able to draw and paint directly on the page like I would if I were using a pen and paper journal. I wouldn't mind a bigger screen though, you're right about that.

I'm using Sketchbook Mobile on my Note to learn some basics to make some elements.

I'd love to see some of your mobile art represented. There's a different feel to the things that can be made on a tablet.
