Making a distressed feature used by Brooke Gazarek into a template

Hi, I hope this is the right place to ask for this request.

I have just downloaded a new overlay made by Brooke Gazarek, Argyle 002 distressed overlay, and wondered if the distressed part of the overlay could be made into its own overlay, as I love the look of the distressed part of the above overlay and would like to be able to use that as its own overlay to be used with any other paper, rather than with the Argyle 002 that it has been used with. The distressed part of the overlay is very subtle, which is what I like. I really hope this can be done.

I think the same distressed overlay has been used on Argyle 09 light blue and white paper, by Marisa Lerin, where the effect is even more subtle.

I hope I have been able to explain what I mean well enough.

With thanks
Linda

The argyle paper I made just has a slight texture to it. For the overlay Brooke made she may have just erased with a brush to get that effect. But maybe she used a clipping mask.

Hi Linda - Marisa is right, a lot of times I do use a brush to erase parts or to add distressing. However, in that particular paper I did have a separate overlay.

It is now posted here.

I also mention in the description how to keep it subtle.

Hi Brooke, Thankyou so much for the overlay. It's just the thing I've been looking for just to add that bit of texture and distressing. Also thanks for the instructions on how to use it, it all helps for the overall effect.

Also, I would love to know the overlay that Marisa used on the Argyle 09 light blue and white paper, it just adds that little bit of all over texture without being too much, I have looked all through the paper and overlay templates but cannot seem to recognise it.

Thanks again
Linda

Hi Marisa, I have looked all through the templates for the slight distressed texture that you used on the Argyle 09 blue and white paper, but have not been able to find it. Can you please let me know which template you used as it is very subtle and just what I'm looking for.

Thanks Marisa

I actually used a style from a different designer, so it's not available here at DigitalScrapbook.com.
