Digital scrapbooking guide suggestions

I am a newbie digital scrapper.I love all the amazing layouts i see on designers websites and i would love to learn the skills to make layouts the way they do.I am taking a class on how to use PSE11 but i am wondering if there is a book i can buy that teaches scrapbook layout design.I would like to learn about mixing color, how to make clusters, what patters look good together and so on. Do anyone have any suggestions? ty Deb

We have a thread going here about making clusters.

Curious if anyone else knows of some useful resources.

Hi Debra and welkome to the wonderful world of digiscrapping (and Pixelscrapper ofcourse!). When I started out I found the beginner tutorials at the daily digi very helpful. They cover pretty much everything, from software and back-up tot improving your photoskills and yes, scrapping and making pretty layouts too! I know there has been an old topic with some great beginner advice too, so I'll have a look and see if I can find it. Ofcourse, Marisa has a few very nice beginner tutorials here as well. Even though they all say Photoshop, most of it will work in PSE too. Good luck and keep us posted!

There are actually a few threads filled with beginner advice. Try these: https://www.digitalscrapbook.com/forums/digital-scrapbooking/digital-scrapbooking-discussion/new-to-scrapbooking or this one: https://www.digitalscrapbook.com/forums/digital-scrapbooking/digital-scrapbooking-discussion/collecting-advice-for-newbies

This hasn't really answered your question about suggesting a BOOK, but it may be a nice starting point.

I have enjoyed some of the videos at Get it Scrapped and Masterful Scrapbook Design. I'm working through "Building Pages" at Get it Scrapped and find it very helpful for scrapbook page techniques.
