My scrapbooking journey all started with my husband.
Every year, i would design a calendar with a monthly calendar grid complemented by family photos, but one fateful year, he asked for something different. In previous years, he might like a photo on the January monthly calendar very much, but because it was so obviously a calendar, he felt rather foolish displaying it in his office past the month and would take it down to avoid being teased. After he came across some Japanese anime calendars which are almost completely posters save for a line of numbers at the bottom, he thought maybe i could do something similar?
And so i thought, and i thought, and finally something clicked in my mind. Why not get some inspiration from the scrapbooking community, and work with a scrapbooking theme? From then on, yours truly started slowly but surely falling in love with the whole scrapbooking world!
Traditionally, there are 15 days in the Chinese New Year 'period', but most families will do the big family reunion on the eve, and then spend the first 2 or 3 days visiting relatives and friends. Firecrackers have always been a part of CNY celebrations, even though they are illegal in these parts. With the Malaysian general elections looming, the Chinese community here has been brazenly setting off the loudest firecrackers and even huge fireworks in the evenings, knowing that the police won't make any arrests. =P
Legoland also had a spectacular musical fireworks show on Monday night, and the staff handed out 3D glasses for us to wear. The lights in Legoland are special custom-made lights, and looking at them through these 3D glasses will turn them into the shapes of Lego bricks. The fireworks were also custom-made to look like bricks with the glasses on, but yours truly only wore them for a few seconds before the novelty wore off. Fireworks are much better enjoyed as they are, the colours are much more vibrant!
