Grandpa Peace River Alberta 1969
RN for 23 years, married for 21 with 2 children. Finishing up my Masters in Nursing. Digital Scrapbooking for 8 years- learning every day, I still consider myself a newbie.
My Grandpa was one of the first white settlers in the Peace River Area of Alberta. After 3 summers, his wife, pregnant with their 2nd child- my mom, insisted they return to England. She was tired of living in a small cabin with no running water or electricity. 40 years later he returned and speaking Cree, was able to locate an old friend he had homesteaded with. My brother tells me that the look on the old Cree Indian's face, that my Grandpa asked directions from, to see this older English man speaking fluent Cree was priceless.
