Have fun and come back next week for part 4 of this challenge.

Ah ... papers! smiley

-Lisa

After the elements this seems more like fun smiley

Aurelija, most definitely!

Can't believe I got mine done already, but here they are:

So fast and so nice!!!

Question: how many of you use CU products in your kit making? I lean on them a lot because I'm just starting and feel guilty after. Thanks!

Here are my papers smiley

Wowzers Lisa and Aurelija!!!!! Nice work!!!

Gorgeous paper!

Question: how many of you use CU products in your kit making? I lean on them a lot because I'm just starting and feel guilty after. Should I? Thanks!

I did not use any CU products - I wasn't aware of this way of creating my own sets. However, I find my way more challenging smiley and more interesting.

Wonderful papers, I love them all!!

Linda, about CU products I use them depending on the kit I want to make, but I read the TOU twice before using the elements because many designers understand "CU" in different ways, some of them I think do not understand at all the meaning (please tell me if I'm wrong)... and that is why I try to make my own elements and if it is not possible, then I search stuff with Creative Commons:

http://search.creativecommons.org

Hope this helps! smiley

I use a lot of resources from DigitalScrapbook.com, because of the awesome to understand TOU. But I also alter it and remake it before I add it to a kit most of the time. I also buy stuff from different stores that have more open TOU with CU stuff.

Thanks, ladies. I have learned you have to read carefully. Some designers I don't know why they even sell anything as CU because they don't really mean it to be....

Linda, for the diagonal and argyle papers, I used overlays from here at PS. I use everything from here so I don't have to worry about the terms. The others I made on my own. I did add a texture overlay to all of them from here. I think using the overlays and patterns from here (or wherever you get them) can still have your own touch to them to make them your own, even if you do use a little help.

Thanks for the compliments on my papers. I used one of Marisa's tuts to make the faded dotted paper. Even though PSE doesn't have the Angle Jitter, I was able to do a little of this and that to make something I liked.

I've made my papers and am really happy with them, I'm happy with my elements too but I'm not too sure that the turquoise-looking elements (kokopelli, hearts and lizard actually belong to that kit.... It's funny because they were the starting point of the whole thing.....
I've attached the preview of the elements and papers together if anyone has thoughts they'd like to share. thanks smiley )

here are the papers

and here's the paper and the elements. wdyt? I'm thinking getting rid of those three elements (the green ones) and keeping them for something else, and now I can add flowers and ribbons and stuff I was meant to add in the 2nd part of the challenge.....

Robyn D, if you see this, the middle striped paper features one of your textures as well! smiley

I actually did my papers before my elements... It's so hard for me to switch that around. I have the one set for my blog train kit, and then two sets for the bundle for my Etsy shop. Here is the link to my blog post for full size images and more information.

France, I really love the turquoise accents. I think you would be doing yourself a disservice by removing them. I am looking forward to seeing this kit complete, and am hoping I get to use it someday! If I do - I can almost guarantee I'll use the cute lizard and kokopelli, and one of the suns as well. I think they're adorable! smiley

France, definitely keep the turquoise elements.

France, yes, keep them!

-Lisa

ooh, thanks for your feedback Lisa, Ania and Marcia, it's good to have sounding boards!!! I'll try to tie them into more with the extra elements I plan on adding smiley

I agree with everyone. They belong! I think they add some whimsy.

Hello! Finally I made the papers! It was hard and I have made changes to my papers and some elements to be satisfied, I think I've made what I wanted to make smiley

Well here they are. Please comment if you like or don't like. Its my first attempt at making things work together. Two of my specific papers are the mosaic looking ones. I was thinking of dragon scales. Please let me know what you think.

Here are my papers! Having so much fun with this challenge!

France, I LOVE the Western Style. You need to definitely keep the turquoise; it makes everything pop beautifully!

Oleysa your blue "dragon scale" paper is my favorite of yours smiley

Here are my papers for this challenge! smiley

Oh Sarah, I adore your balloon pattern paper!!

Wow, super work all!

France, I think the turquoise-looking elements could be okay with some modifications. Assuming you saved the original PSD, I'd try a different pattern layer, and maybe use an antique silver stroke around them.

But they definitely belong with this kit, whether you choose to modify them or not.

Great papers, everyone!

So ... we can add extra elements?
