Chat about what you like here!

Hey all! I am here. I did get all the eMails, and downloaded the palette as well as peeped into the Dropbox. I haven't had a ton of time to sit down yet, but I will have some stuff of my own uploaded soon!!!

No worries Nicole. That's why I like our way of working this. You go at your own pace without the pressure. Having a set amount of papers and elements to make helps to plan your time. It works for me anyways! smiley

I like it, I think it works out really well.

I'm all for working at our own pace. I'm trying out new things and it's nice to be able to play around. smiley Andrea, you're a good leader, by the way!

-Lisa

I've gotten all my papers done and added to the folder smiley I'm working on the ele's. I've got about half of them done. I'm still experimenting with a few ideas for the other half.

I've actually gotten a few things done, but haven't uploaded them yet... Keep getting distracted by trying new things. I think some of these are my best yet! I have already peeked at some of what everyone else has uploaded, so cute!

I know, I'm probably gonna have to pull my papers and redo them...I think they are in the wrong size smiley Oh well no biggie, at least it's not the eles that I'm having to do all over again.

@Nicole - I get distracted, too. I'll be looking for something on here, then get sidetracked downloading stuff lol. I'm also trying to get things organized on two computers so I'll be sure and have everything on both (not to mention the cloud stuff!).

LOL ladies.... I need to stop downloading stuff and actually MAKE stuff. smiley I've looked at our Dropbox and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. We're beginners, huh? I think not. Pretty fabulous stuff in there. Good job all!

Similarly to what Emma said in the Group post, I'm struggling with the colours on this one! I'm not a purple/lilac person. At the minute those colours are in a palette, I get thrown off. I do not know why.

Anyhow, I'll make it work, somehow! I'm currently stuck on some elements I'm trying to make and looking for tuts to help me along the way, and just playing with settings in Photoshop. I've actually discovered pretty cool textures (that I, of course, forgot to save) that way.

Okay, I'm off to create some more! Keep up the good work ladies! We're awesome!

You know, now that we've got an eclectic mix of stuff created, I got to thinking we should have come up with a theme first! lol I'm finding (with a little help from both PS and Pinterest) that I'm all over the place in making things!!! I just finished one and decided not to add it. But what the heck, if it doesn't go, it can come out. So in it goes.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the palette. For me, it's the black and white that throws me. Unless a theme is totally black and white, of course. I find myself going with three of the colors mainly. I love purple, but I keep going back to those other three colors. And there's three or four others than have gotten left out in the cold! But when I look at the stuff in there, it all works.

I think we're doing good, too. Can't wait to see more goodies flow in!

-Lisa

I know! I made my papers and uploaded them, and made a few elements. But then I stopped and thought; where am I going with this!? They are really pretty colors, but I can't really think of a theme.

I have an idea for a theme based on the elements. I know they're all mine and Andrea's, but I sat and looked at them and an idea popped into my head. I'll email everyone to flesh it out more and see what you think.

-Lisa

I've finished all of mine smiley Took some thinking and a bit of experimenting to get there but I did it..feeling pretty good about that.

Love the new goodies in there, Emma!

My blog got HACKED!!! I'm so ticked! I was going to create some more things, but now I gotta get this taken care of. Grrrrr!!!!!

-Lisa

Thank you Lisa for that wonderful comment and the ego boost smiley I had a whole lot of fun doing this. Maybe I'll think about doing another one if it should come up. I don't think I'm really ready to be a part of the blog trains just yet. My skills need a great deal of improvement before I step into that arena smiley

You're welcome and I think our kit will look good! I didn't get to work on anything this weekend as it was busy. And, my blog was hacked AGAIN! Grrrr! Hoping I get to finish my stuff soon.

-Lisa

Oh my goodness, how is it getting hacked? I think all of our elements and papers fit really well together. We're gonna have an awesome kit!

I don't know! Don't those people have anything better to do? My host has been great at helping me, but I don't know how they're getting in. I've changed passwords, made sure WP is updated, deleted plugins I'm not using, etc.

It's fixed - for now - so I'm going to try to finish my elements and get some kind of term thing done, too.

-Lisa

I've been checking out the other teams and it looks like we need to decide how we want to present our kit(s). I'm gathering from those threads we can make our individual preview kits and add them to one kit preview. I saw one good idea for our blogs, which is to add links to each others' blogs below our part.

And a kit name! I'm packing up my stuff to add to my blog and am trying to think of a name.

We need a plan, time is getting close!

-Lisa

I uploaded the last of mine the other night, I was waiting to see what the vote was before I did the preview.

I really like the idea of each of us doing our own preview, and then combining them into one preview. As well as the blog part with linking to each others parts. Seems the easiest, least problematic way to do this. smiley

You would think they would go for huge blogs, instead of picking on little guys like us. smiley

I know, right???

Okay, I don't want to take over Andrea's lead, but I did some generators for the color we all have seemed to gravitate to. This particular generator had antonym's and one that stuck out to me was "lighthearted". So, how does that sound for a kit name? I know we had the other theme kind of floating around, but I swear I looked at my completed kit and nothing came to mind!

Let me know what you think.

-Lisa

I'm up in the air about a name as well. But lighthearted seem's to just as good as any. I'm not sure how to do kit previews...sizing, displaying etc. Is there a template that can be used to arrange the papers and eles so that they look organized and neat? I have some templates just not sure if any of them will work for creating a preview.

Also let me know what's decided about featuring the kit...individual blog post links or a one page feature showing all the links to each individuals part.

I think that featuring the kit (with a few individual preview's) on one page with the individual links would probably be the best way to attract attention to it (same set up as a blog train would do). People seem to like this sort of thing.

Hopefully, Nicole and Andrea will weigh in on the name, kit preview, and how to display - soon! That's really all I'm waiting on to finish my preview.

Emma, here's a link to a tut by Marisa on how to do a preview on a template she provides (link is in that post). I don't know which program you use, but I was able to use in both PSP8 (an ancient version!) and PSE. I'm also uploading two different previews into Dropbox.

Also, doing a google search for digitalscrapbook.com kit preview tutorial will bring up quite a few posts here that might help.

I'm anxious to see how the other teams display/preview their kits. After I post this, I'm going to look at the prior Pass The Kit challenge and see how they did it.

I'll step out on a limb and offer to put our individual previews into one preview kit - as long as I get them by tomorrow!!

ETA: Okay, it seems like there's still confusion on how to display all of our items. I'm thinking it might be best to just add our kits when Marisa does the share thread, like in this previous Pass the Kit Challenge. Then, I guess, maybe offer each other's kits directly from our own blog as well as a link to each others' blogs? That way, people can get the whole kit directly off our blogs, whichever one they choose to visit, without having to go to each blog to get the whole kit. Thoughts?

-Lisa

Oooh, those generators sound fun, would you mind sharing the links?

Also, I have no preference on the name and displaying. I am horrible with names, so I will go with whatever the winning vote is, lol!

I also don't want to take over Andrea's lead as well, and I feel we should really wait for her vote before deciding on previews, in case she already had something planned. I already noted what I liked best...

But if we do not hear anything soon, I figure just post individual previews in the sharing thread, and posting on our blogs with a link to our teams kits, and then to the sharing thread.

I got a few from here at Karen Diamond Designs, along with great tips for naming kits. The other one I googled for the color was at Thesaurus.

I'm good with waiting on Andrea, too. I'm not even sure when our kits are to be done!

-Lisa

According to the initial post by Marisa here it would seem Oct 31st is the ending date for this.. So, TOMORROW! lol!! So, if we haven't heard anything by tomorrow, I am going to just set my preview up on my blog, and post in the sharing thread. AND add links to all you gals as we get our stuff together.. Sound confusing? Hope not..

Okay, I didn't read down that far lol. I'm just waiting on a name. I'm going with "Lighthearted" on my blog. I'll put my part on here later and hope that Andrea checks in with any ideas.

I need to go in and get y'all's blog names to link to.

ETA: Andrea's blog doesn't appear to be active any longer. I also noticed she's not added anything else since last week. Hope she's okay.

-Lisa

I'm finishing up on my kit. Renamed everything to "Lighthearted" - man there's gotta be an easier way than to do it all individually! Zipping up files now and will put my part in the preview thread. I'm not sure how to do the terms - I guess leave them individually? I don't know. I think I'll put on my blog that for this particular kit, if they use any of my stuff with any of y'all's I let your terms apply since you allow S4H. This is my first rodeo with all this!

Haven't heard from Andrea and I saw other places on here that people were asking about her links as her blog is gone. smiley

-Lisa

Wow, odd. I hope she is okay.

Sorry, I didn't get anything done today. Spent 6 hours at the ER.. To make a long story short I have a REALLY bad sinus infection, so I'll be checking in tomorrow, hope everyone is okay with that!
