The diverseness of the community here at DigitalScrapbook.com is simply stunning. We come from all parts of the world, speak many languages and have lots of different values and opinions yet we all come together to create an amazing extended family of sorts. We learn from each other, we learn of places we might not otherwise learn about and we spread our 
around the world by creating this bond we have with people who would otherwise be strangers. It is just one of the many things that I love about DigitalScrapbook.com. The layout challenge this week is to create a layout about something that you love about where you are from or currently live.

Ok it took me forever and I'm late, but since the thread isn't locked, I'm sharing.

Melanie, it seems to be an issue that isn't affecting everyone.
I live in Central Texas and most people seem to think that Texas is a desert ... but it is really far from that, especially in the Spring! We wait all year for the colorful burst of Spring. It usually begins in mid March, and is in full bloom until early June! We've had lots of rain this month, so we have especially lush late bloomers this year.
EDIT: 6/5/2015 I took a walk in West Austin yesterday while Mike was in a business meeting (for 2 hours), and I actually saw a few bluebonnets still holding strong ... June is REALLY late for bluebonnets that began blooming in Austin about March 20!

I chose to scrap the bucket fountain in the Cuba Mall - this has been refurbished many times and is an eclectic feature in my home city since I was a little girl. I have lived most of my life in Wellington, New Zealand (capital city)

My first time participating in a layout challenge here at DigitalScrapbook.com, I'm hoping I followed all the directions. This park was behind our house (before we moved this fall). We really miss how it brought our whole neighborhood together. It was a gathering spot for the kids and a safe place for them to play and gain some freedom because the park was surrounded by houses.
