How are the layout challenges working for you currently? I'm looking ahead to the new year, and wondering if there's anything new you'd like to see. Do you like the somewhat random and weekly approach we're taking currently? Or would you like to see a more regular set of challenges (scraplift, template, journaling, design, etc) come out at the beginning of the month? Other thoughts?

Font challenges are always fun for me...font-a-holic that I am.
I would like the regular challenges but I would prefer to have set days of release. I am not a fan of random.
Regular challenges would mean that I know when to expect them. Having to check every day is frustrating.
I would also like at least 4 challenges every week. Including one over the weekend. I often find myself with nothing to do over the weekend. Usually because the youtubers (the ones I follow at least) dont post new content over the weekend and I have no new challenges so I would like at least one new challenge on the weekend. That would be helpful to me.

As for new ideas. I have another website I am on, for which we have weekly prompts and we have to provide either stories or photos that show that idea in whatever way is meaningful to us. These are not necessarily holidays either.
Prompts can be simple words such has - New, start, bicycle, maternal, paternal, babies, dress-up, humorous, library, shopping, patriotic (which usually shows up around remembrance day), wedding, family, oldest, youngest, birthday (in whatever the month is), pets, spectacles, friends, school, summer (and the other seasons), professions, transportation, cars etc etc.
Like I said, I now have 2 years worth of such prompts. And we can make a page for the prompt, however each person interprets that word or phrase.
I am just trying to inject some variety. Because some of the current challenges do get repeated a lot.
Not sure if I really like the random posting of the challenges as I am fairly new at returning to be more active here. I was a challenge host back in the days of Gotta Pixel ( site that closed some years ago) and enjoy doing that.
I personally feel there should be about 3 set challenges started at the the beginning of the month and then the remainder of the month could be randomly posted.
I'd like a few to be regular (starting at at the first of each month), with a few bonus challenges thrown in the break it up.
My favorites are scrap lifts, templates, scriptures, and the challenges that involve the previous month's kits... but I try to participate in most challenges whether it's my style or not. I really enjoy trying something new..
I like challenges that are a bit open to interpretation. I can't seem to limit myself to a single kit to save my life, so a lot of the kit-based challenges don't work very well for me - but I love the ones that tell you to use something like arrows, or hexagons or the colour green or whatever (especially the kind where the next person gives a new colour or shape, because then it keeps changing
), scripture/quote/theme challenges, and challenges that ask you to try a particular technique. I also enjoy the scraplift challenges (and keep thinking there should be a regular challenge that says "scraplift one of the layouts you hearted last month on pixelscrapper").
One challenge that I used to enjoy on a long-defunct site was the "ad challenge" - someone would post an ad from a magazine and we'd use that as an inspiration for a layout. Oh - and the font challenge was always fun - someone picks a readily available free font (or style of font, like grunge) and you need to incorporate that into your layout.
I often use challenges to decide what layout to do next, so I love having lots of variety
I'd be happy if we could have all the challenges from layout madness all the time lol - but I realize that's too much work for the moderators! I like what a few others have suggested - a few posted right away at the beginning of the month, and then randomly throughout the month. Big thank you to all of you who create the challenges for us!!
I like doing challenges, however they are offered to me. The more there are, the best it is.
I also like to have a lot of challenges, it leaves the choice, I only do those I love!
I prefer at the beginning of the month, it leaves time to do a lot of challenges
I like the idea of a few set ones at the start of the month and random others during the rest of the month.
As a designer rather than a scrapper, I also do like the monthly "use the blog train" challenge, because it's nice seeing how everyone utilizes the elements in the train (whether or not they're actually using my contribution). I like seeing how different people implement it.
Regular and random would be a nice compromise. Like one regular challenge every week and one on the first of the month to mark the new blog train. Then random challenges for a holiday/celebration/observance, (such as Earth Day, Random Acts of Kindness week, Cinco de Mayo, etc.) , and from other members who have such great ideas
I did love the Flash challenges that Kaleena used to have. For some reason I seemed to do more of those than anything.
I think maybe one random FLASH challenge per week would be sweet. 
I too do like some regular ones as well as some random ones thrown in.

I enjoy having they main challenges every month and I also enjoy having them put up each week. I like how you guys have been sporadically doing them lately. Having all the weekly challenges posted the same day each week made sense years ago when the challenges all closed after a week but since they are all open till the end of the month I like the randomness.
I just thought I would add.... please keep the challenges open for the full month and not be done within a week other than possibly a random one posted the last week of the month and if that happens - make that challenge a very simple one ( eg: Font )

I'm going to pretty much repeat what everyone else is saying. I like having some set monthly ones, like the blog train, but the random pop up ones are fun to see too.
Could we have some new challenges for December, please?
I know everone is making Christmas Layouts right now. I certainly am.
But I need a new challenge as well. Perhaps a recipe or a scavenger hunt?
Or perhaps a theme centred around the holidays, that is not necessarily Xmas.
