Catching up on the Past

The idea is fresh in my mind and I wanted to share. It's been 12 yrs now that I've been meaning to scrapbook officially. I've always got as far as a page or two here and there and a long list, that's been impatiently waiting for all those years! I sat down the other night and reviewed my list, some of which I don't even remember the memory I wanted to achieve, and revised it.

I decided that with 30 "past" layouts (from 2005-2013) and probably another 10-15 from my "current" list (2013 to now), I needed to figure out a solution to get these things finally made. I've decided to type out my "past" list, cut in into strips and place them in a jar. Each month, I plan to grab one random past strip and the first unfinished layout from my current list.

This way, I'm knocking out a past layout but also catching up on the current. If I get them both done, I'll grab another past strip and keep going. I chose 2013 as my cut off point, for the simple fact, that our first child together was born in 2014 and I wanted to get his half brothers pages and that part of our old lifestyle done asap.

I'm not sure how others accomplish their old layouts, but I'd love to hear them! I hope this helps anyone else, that's not sure where to start.

That's a great idea! I love that you are using it as almost a game to play with the strips!
