Download Site Problems

Which sites give you the most troubles w/downloading..
for me it's media fire..no matter what browser I use I get nothing but trying to fix the problem or it goes to a pg w/nothing but gobbley gook.. some sort of code I guess
so those of you who use mainly media fire could you please think about another choice.. I've missed out on so many of your BEAUTIFUL creations... these GIFTS are to wonderful to miss out on...

THANK YOU for at least giving it a thought or 2

Danielle, I see from some other posts besides this one you are having problems downloading from Mediafire.. I'm no techie, but I wonder if your antivirus might be the problem? Especially the firewall can interfere with download sites. Do you have problems with 4shared (you have to join this one to download anyway)? OneDrive? Google Docs? DropBox? Even if you aren't having problems with any of these others, it might still be a firewall/antivirus setting that is blocking it.

I agree with Linda's assessment about a firewall or virus protection issue. I use chrome and don't have problems with any of the download sites working, eventually. And I only say eventually because so many of them have their specific "requirements" to actually work. smiley
My only issue I've ever had as a downloader was #1 with 4 shared because like Linda said I had to join to download & you have to wait 20 seconds, but that happens at a lot of them now. #2 with mediashare... during my first few uses, I struggled with the whole typing in the password from the photos, but like mentioned previously a lot of the download sites do this too.

I'm not a designer but I'm sure it's hard from their side too because they try to keep it free and not have to pay for the bandwidth of us downloaders, so they can keep them as gifts and not need to charge. I know my hubby and I have a family site for reunions etc and it uses bandwidth we pay for monthly... if it goes over our "limit" it's the worse cause the get you as bad as the cell phone companies when you use too many minutes. smiley

I agree with everyone else. I changed up my AV program, and ever since I haven't had issues with any sites. At one time I was using the program that came with the computer, and it hardly let me do anything! smiley

Danielle, could you take a screen shot, please? I'm curious as to what you're actually seeing. Does the "code" come up as soon as your browser loads mediafire, or after you click download?

4shared & all the others are no problem &^ the anti-virus is the same one I've used for years.. never had this problem before I started using windows 7 & I've even tried turning off zone alarm again I've used it for years & never had problems before 7...I'd take a screen shot but sadly I don't know how I usually can solve most problems but a real neonewby when it comes to most other things...
THANK YOU all for your help it means a lot to me

Taking screenshots is easy: Just hit the "Print Screen" key. Open up your photo editing program and click paste, then save it. Zone Alarm is one of the best out there; I used to use it myself. However, it does tend to block A LOT of stuff that it shouldn't. Win 7 is junk, unfortunately; if you can, upgrade to Win 8.
