EASY TUTORIAL TO CREATE LEAVES IN PHOTOSHOP & ILLUSTRATOR

I followed 2 tutorials on creating leaves in Photoshop and Illustrator..Because this week designer challenge is to create a leaves set so Ania asked me to share it..I know most of you can create leaves by following your own method..But if someone doesn't know then you can follow it..It's very easy for beginners and can be used in PS, PSE, PSP, GIMP anywhere.. smiley

CLICK IT-- Creating Leaves and Flowers in Photoshop

NOTE PLEASE-- the first page is to create a petal in Photoshop and 2nd page contains leaf tutorial..Actually it's same..If you are confused about creating the petal or leaf shape mentioned there, let me simplify the basic shape--

1) MAKE A NEW LAYER OR A NEW DOCUMENT IN PHOTOSHOP>
2) DRAW A SELECTION WITH ELLIPTICAL MARQUEE TOOL>
3) FOR LEAF FILL IT WITH A GREEN SHADE YOU LIKE>
4) ROTATE AND SCALE IT AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURE IN ABOVE LINK>
5) THEN SELECT THE RECTANGLE MARQUEE TOOL AND SELECT THE AREA AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURE IN SAME LINK>
6) CUT THAT AREA>
7) YOU WILL GET HALF LEAF SHAPE>
9) COPY-PASTE THAT SHAPE>
9) FLIP IT HORIZONTALLY >
10) THEN COMBINE BOTH SHAPE CAREFULLY AND MARGE THE BOTH LAYERS>
11) HERE'S YOU LEAF/PETAL BASIC SHAPE READY..NOW USE LAYER STYLES AND EFFECTS AS MENTIONED IN THE ABOVE LINK OR EXPERIMENT AS YOU WISH..

Now if you want to create various leaves in Illustrator, I followed this tutorial..It can be used in Photoshop too if you are very handy with the pen tool and also you can cleverly tweak the above photoshop tutorial a little to get desired shapes..I am not very good with pen tool so I will take illustrator help..Hope you can find it useful..
