HELP PLEASE :)

I downloaded a set (Bohemian Breeze) and I can't open any of the files. When I try to open them it says they have either been moved or renamed? Is it something I did, or my computer or something with the files? it says they are ZIP ARCHIVES and it is trying to open them with 7z whatever that is.

TIA, Jeanne

7 zip is a file compression software program. It works great.
If you go to: http://download.cnet.com/s/7zip/ you can download the program. Chose the 64bit option if you are running a 64bit system.

After you install open the file manager. Than go to the location of your file. Select all of the files you want to open. Than click Expand on the menu to open the files. It will open the files while creating a folder for each file.

Sounds like they're not where your computer thinks they should be, Jeanne. Usually, they'll download to your Downloads folder, unless you've set a different place for them to download to by default. You'll need to see if they perhaps got moved to another folder, or accidentally sent to the Recycle Bin/Trash Can (right-click recycle bin and choose show recycle bin or open recycle bin from the pop-up menu to check, and if they're there, select them, right-click, and choose the option that says something like restore).

If you're new to digital scrapbooking and don't already have a huge collection, do yourself a favor and make sure each extracted element is tagged with the designer, the kit, the element type, and the color. It makes it really easy to use Bridge, Picasa, or even Windows search to find a specific element.

No Expand on the menu, there is Extract tho. We are having a snow storm otherwise I would take my lap top over to my computer guy and have him set it all up for me. I am somewhat computer illiterate. LOL Thanks smiley

@Jeanne:
Don't worry.
I have been there!
It will all be good.

You can try this :

You could either re-download the items or you could enter the filenames you are looking for into the search bar. If you are using a PC, you might be wanting to do this:
go to computer
go to c:
enter the file name into the search bar
one you found the files on your drive make sure to copy paste them into the folder you keep your scrapbooking supplies

Hope that helps. smiley
Happy scrapbooking

My computer will do this if the download is interrupted during the process. The file shows up, but it isn't complete so it won't open. The only way I have found to fix it is to download it again and delete the original.
