Shawna! I was just going to make this post! It's actually DSD (Digital Scrapbooking Day) this Saturday, but it's the same thing!
It means a LOT of GREAT freebies, discounts and chances to win prizes at your favorite digital scrapbooking supply stores.
Great idea to start a thread so we can all post the great deals we see!

Here's a blog entry about all the fun that will be going at at Scrapbook Orchard!

here's a blog post about what Christine Smith's stores (Digi Scrap Addicts and CU Digitals) are doing for DSD with links to the places you need to sign up to get the great freebies... and there will also be a blog hop

http://christinesmith.net/dsd-freebies-and-events/

Pixel and Co blog hop (Picadilly free kit)
start here: http://www.creashens.com/lets-get-this-pco-dsd-party-started/

I just saw this post on the GingerScraps blog tonight and they have TONS of stuff going on, lots of sales, forum challenges, scavenger hunts, FB Hop, etc Here's the link to their blog post that shows it ALL

DigiShop Talk Forums has a Special DSD Area set up with two sub-forums: DSD Chatter and DSD Sales... THeose two spots include A lot of information about all kinds of goings on through the week/weekend.

Here's what appears to be an official FB Page for DSD... to look for more info too.

added Scraps N Pieces (SNP) Bea(You)tiful Template Facebook Hop to the Blog Train list and Scraps N Pieces (SNP) to the All-in-one list.

I fixed them Sera (you changed the spelling of your name on me) smiley
They were just way too long, so I found the shorter versions after several attempts.

Touched by a Butterfly has a great coupon code for 40% off and a $2 kit section in her store this weekend - a $2 kit at 40% off would be $1.20! (the coupon code is good for anything in the store smiley not just the $2 stuff)

She is also planning on flooding her facebook and store with freebies throughout the day.

@Shawna: Am I going to see ya over at the games again (over at SO) tomorrow?? smiley It was really nice seeing you there last time... Though I forget what your username is over there - you'll have to private message me like you did last time to remind me. smiley

added Scrapflower CU Blog Train that starts at 10am tomorrow (Saturday, November 02, 2013)

@ Shawna... yes I changed the spelling of my name... I'm changing my name to Seraphina so Sera for short. Thank you for the shorter links.

@Lizanne: I may unfortunately not get to do as much this DSD. smiley We have sooooo much family, church, personal stuff this year the weekend seems to be very packed. I am going to try to get on some in between our stuff, but I may not get to enjoy it as much this year. I actually told hubby last night I was a little upset at all the "Stuff" that got planned for this weekend... that he knew the weekend in May (iNSD) and the weekend in Nov(DSD) were my special stay on the PC all weekend times. haha -- He said he was sorry but he would help make the memories worth scrapping. LoL and promised to wash the dishes, too! So I had to forgive him. smiley

Scrap Takeout Facebook Hop also has a progressive scrap challenge with each step found with the link to each designer.

@Sera: So cool that you´re changing names - I was thinking this week on add the "Lorien" on my register, after I had a problem on buying something on walmart online store - they called me to check if I was myself and not a scammer - and they didn´t believed I was myself till they talk to my hubby, because when they asked "who is there" I said "Lorien", and not my name on civil register...

It´s just me or this DSD is not that cool? The offerings are more or less the same as they offered on other days... What is good for me, as the dollar conversion rares are high and my country just put some restrictive mesures on buying on international websites, plus raised the taxes... Is it possible that they´ll have better sales on Black Friday or something like that? Or I´m missing something?

I just found and added MScraps Fun at their site & also a FB/Blog Train Hop for y'all!!!

My store at With Love Studio is 50% off, plus I have 2 added specials going on this weekend:

1. The first 3 orders over $5 (after discounts/coupons) will get a coupon for a free kit of their choice,
2. All orders over $10 (after discounts/coupons) will be entered in a drawing to win my store.

I also have a limited time freebie up for DSD, available in two parts.

Part one is on my Facebook page:

Part two is on my blog:

And finally, I've been posting coupons on my Facebook page for extra savings and even free product! There are still a few up for grabs, so go have a look!

Ok, so the designer part of me has had her say. Now I need to jump in as a customer and say that I agree with Lorien!! I have been really disappointed with DSD so far!! Sales have been kind of lackluster, freebies have been hard to come by, and I think the majority of the coupons I have seen have been from our store, so I can't use them! I was so excited for this weekend, and so far its just been kind of blah.

Oh, I found a CU hop this morning from Scrap Seeds. It starts here.

@Shawna: Sorry you're going to miss out, but I liked your hubby's response. smiley Sounds like a keeper, like my guy. smiley

@Lorien... I've wanted to change my name since the early 90's like 1990 ish but I was only 12 so I couldn't do it then... then when I turned 18 my folks objected and pointed out that it would piss off/just generally upset my very elderly Grandmother... so I've been putting it off and I had pretty much given up the idea but then my Grandmother died this past January and my mother decided to change her name to Gaelin (it was Gayle) she feels an affinity for the name which is what I originally said about Seraphina... so my mother gave her blessing and since my Grammy is gone from this earth.... now I just have to save up the $175 to file the paper work... but I've gone back to spelling my name Sera on non-official matters, much like you do with your name.

as for the sales this year... I have noticed that the sales seem to be mostly the same as usual... but I did find a couple really good deals at SNP... link is below and I'll put it in the first post too... a bunch of their designers are doing build your own grab bags that pretty much amount to $1 to 2$ per full size kit... pretty good deal... I got Wendy Tunison's 20 kits for $30 deal... and Busy Crafting Mommy Designs had a 20 kits for $20 which I also got... a bunch of the other designers have similar deals at SNP... here's the link for the section of the store with the build you're own grab bags... Like I said the deals amount to $1 to $2 for full size kits!!!!

I haven't really checked out the other sites other than to see that the deals are mediocre since I spent all my money and don't want to see what I'm missing out on! lol.

Ok... So, I've found another FB Train: One Story Down [ Link ] You have to scroll down to Nov 1st posting for the full list (& Click See More - for a total of 12 stops)

found another one... only good through today... Scrapbook-bytes Facebook Hop (only good through November 03, 2013) [ Link ]

added... Digital Scrap Addicts [ Link ] to Blog Trains

Here in Brazil changing names is a real pain... And sometimes its appoval or not depends a lot on the mood of the person "judging" the case. But, as most of the people calls me Lorien and not my first name, I qualify for adding the Lorien to the civil register...

Maybe more of a November blog hop than a DSD blog hop, but you have DigiScrap Parade up there, so I figured I'd add it:

DST Blog Train (Family Traditions)

http://www.digishoptalk.com/insider/welcome-aboard-dst-blog-train-nov-2013/

@Heather: Seth loves the papers in your 'Bee Me Up' kit smiley

And I love them too, lol. Perfect to scrap about one of the stops of my recent road trip - where we shoped at a place of small honey producers (I got a super rare honey pot) where they had a tiny exhibition showing how the bees are "breed" and the honey produced...

I just recently discovered the wonders of local honey when a friend started keeping hives. Oh my YUM!!! And my little girl has a bumblebee costume, so I needed a bee kit. smiley

@Heather: The great thing about local honey is that a teaspoon a day in your tea, coffee, cereal, whatever you like it in is great for outdoor allergy sufferers (like myself). It helps build up our natural immunity to the local area pollens gradually in our system and then you need less chemically made medicines to control your allergies. Great for natural health care! (just in case you didn't already know this info) smiley -- PS There are always some seasonal days that it's a tad to much and I may have to take a pill but maybe 6-10 pills a day now instead of daily.

@Violet: Thanks for sharing the blog train info!!! smiley
