Pleae Help me scrap...

These pictures are beautiful! But they are AWFUL to scrap! The bright purple and blue green clash with the fall colors in the background. (Had I realized she was going to be so cute and photogenic I would have changed her clothes! HA!) I finally used the jewel tones to get it scrapped, but I hate it. Any ideas?

Black and white? Brown and tan? Split the (ridiculously cute) kid pics and the cow pics onto different pages in a 2-page spread, with the journaling going across the split to tie it together? In the latter, you could use a nice sky blue for the kid pics and gold for the cattle, and the pages would still look good side by side.

Have you thought about making the photos black and white? Or maybe making a portion of the photo grey (like the jewel colors) and the sky can keep the color?

@Jess - I have considered using tans and whites as the background, but I haven't found the right combo to make those pictures pop like purples and blues would. As for the pics, this is just the right side. The left side is a big photo layout of the best picture of her smile.

@Nicole - I have tried black and white, but no matter how I saturate the photos, they just are NOT as cute as with those bright vibrant colors! And without a pic or two of the cows, you can't see WHY she is so excited. I haven't tried keeping just a portion in color, maybe that would help...

Thanks for the tips! Feel free ti send more as you think of them!

I´d turn the girl´s photos to sepia.

Oooh, a sepia tone would be very pretty!

I love sepia. It's what I did to my profile pic.

I love sepia also. And i have tried making them all sepia but they just lose something as sepia or B&W. Thanks guys, I really do apprecite the tips! I think it is the purple jacket that just POPS. I am walking away for a week or two! On to other pages!!!

If it were me, I'd change the 2 cow photos to black & white or sepia. Then use shades of the colors in her pictures for the flowers, arrows, etc. That way she is still showcased and the cows are still showing why she is excited.

I agree with Patricia on this. I'd definately change the cow photos to a neutral color. I will make the other pics easier to work with. Good luck.

I think I would change the colors you scrapped with, if you enjoy and want to hang on to the pictures' colors. Maybe work with a bright teal, which is in her shirt too, with little pops of bright purple and lots of white to neutralize? If you brighten the colors in this kit, I think they may work with the photos you have : https://www.digitalscrapbook.com/janet-scott/kits/the-best-is-yet-to-come-former-january-2013-blogtrain-freebie-kit-new-year-rustic

My thought being : if the purple in the picture pops, pop right back at it with your background or elements...!

I like what you've already done. My only comment is that I think the background should be patterned even slightly, the solid although textured paper is a bit bland for the page.

I know this is a little late, but if you could darken the blue sky above the foliage in the top left pic to be as blue as it is in the other pics, it may help them to blend together better. You can see some of the fall foliage in each of the other pics. I like your symmetry in this layout.

I'm a bit late to the party too but I like the advice you've been given so far and would go with sepia coloured pictures too smiley
