QR Codes on scrapbook pages

One of the new things right now is including a QR code on a scrapbook page to send you to a video or a web page. Has anyone done this or know how to create them?

Karry ... I had to look that up ... I don't have a smart phone so didn't know what it was until I did lol .... obviously I've never done it but it could be a great way to get traffic to your store if you had one

We had a thread that discussed this quite a while ago. I'll see if I can find it.

Adding Video To A Scrapbook Layout

My husband & I made some for the spines of some notebooks, as we envisioned people being able to scan them while browsing through a friends library, and wanting to make a connection with us on-line as well. It took some figuring to get the QR codes the right size to be able to be scanned.

Also in ISO: Pinterest Post Marisa shared an article "Enhance Your Layouts with QR Codes". I also enjoyed Tiffany Johnstone's idea of putting them on Christmas cards or such. I think I'm going to do something like this for our past graduations. My husband's side of the family ALL have the smart phones, and would find this neat. Other's like my folks...have no need. They may be on-line, but still don't have smart phones.

This is such a great idea! If I wasn't coming up on the holiday season I'd jump on it. I'm going to file this away for the new year. Thanks for those links Laura!

Thanks Laura for helping out! You're always so great at it! smiley

I did this for the first time recently! I don't think I've posted the layout in the PS gallery yet. I was nervous about putting a video of my family on YouTube, so it took me a while to work up to it, after reading about privacy settings and so on. It's really fun! I haven't shown the layout to any of my family yet but I've gotten a kick out of scanning it and watching what is essentially the photo on my layout come to life on my phone.

Traci Reed has a post about it that I like a lot as well as a freebie journal card template for adding a QR code: http://tracireed.com/news/2013/01/add-video-project-life/

I also made a couple of journal cards for the May blog train that are intended for QR codes - "My Signature Phrase" and "My Signature Move." Fun stuff to capture on video with kids. http://eversoscrumptiously.wordpress.com/2014/05/01/pixel-scrapper-may-blog-train-hello/

Britt-ish Designs also has a freebie PNG for use with showing off a QR code video, as well as a post about it: http://brittishdesigns.blogspot.com/2013/03/using-qr-codes-in-your-digital-layouts.html?m=1

Great Info & Tuts Violet! smiley
