FREEBIES CU/PU: Vidia

I've been snagging freebies from the Assets section and on the forum for several months now. While I was creating a challenge layout today, I thought to myself, "Self, you really should start giving back. Stop being a slacker!" So, here I am to share!

Mostly everything I offer will be PU and CU friendly. If I use anything I accumulated during my stint on Shutterstock, it has to be PU ONLY, which I will note.

I made these for my Flash Happy Layout Challenge.

These flowers were also made for the Flash Happy Layout Challenge.

I love your stuff! I notices they are a different type of file not a rar or zip...I am having trouble opening them. I downloaded a program online and went to run it and blockers came up everywhere....do you have a safe free suggestion for opening this type of file?

Thank you! I appreciate it. smiley

I run Windows 8, so they are indeed valid Windows zip files (.7z on the file) and, therefore, completely safe.

I had written a different response, but I'm editing after doing a little research. I had thought maybe the new 7-zip on Windows 8 was incompatible with Windows versions prior to 8, but that is untrue. Which version of Windows are you running, or do you have a Mac? I'll keep researching on and off today; if I can't figure it out, I'll talk to my son when he gets out of work tonight to see if he knows.

I have windows 7, I'm sure it is just a matter of downloading one that will unzip it. but just googling, the one I tried was all bad....my computer comes up with a message saying doesn't recognize what program to open with.

I am using WinZip and they open fine. I was a little disconcerted by the file extension, too.

Thank you, Vidia, for the lovely papers and flowers!

I will download the free trial of winzip thanks...was really wanting one i didn't have to pay for...lol

Jennifer: You should be able to open it, then. From everything I've read so far, 7-zip is fully compatible with all previous Windows versions. I'll keep looking, though. The only other option I can think of is WinRar, which is compatible with all operating systems and archivers. I know my son has it on his computer, so I'll make him put it on my computer tonight and use it in the future.

Debra, .7z is the new file extension for zip files in Windows 8. So, if you're not running 8, I can understand how it would look suspicious. And, you're welcome! smiley

Thanks Vidia, the Winzip worked, but it's only a trial...I'll see what I can figure out...thanks again for your beautiful work!

Well, like I said, I'll use WinRar from now on to zip files, so everyone will be able to open them without any issues. Sorry for inconvenience, Jennifer. Glad you were able to finally snag them, though. smiley

You're welcome!

Lovely Vidia!

Here's a compass I made the other day.

You can snag it directly from photobucket: Click me!

It's about 250 pixels larger than what's shown on here.

TOU is simple: You can do whatever you want with it. smiley

And here are two water elements:

This is the true size of the splash, so just right click to save.

You can grab the waves over at photobucket. Click me! Its actual dimensions are 2049 X 888.

Gorgeous papers in post #02, and I love the compass in post #18 - thank you, Vidia!

I just followed your link to Photobucket - how do I download the compass?

Never mind, I just clicked the link again, and it took me to a different page where I could save to my pictures folder. I don't know why clicking the same link took me to a different page, but... oh well.
