Homestead Kit / Bundle

I am looking for a shabby chic kind of homesteading country bundle. Of course I want to see it here rather than somewhere else!

We live on a farm in Amish country. We always have a garden. We can tomatoes. We put up corn and beans. We have chickens and goats and fruit trees and berry bushes. I take a LOT of pictures of my kids and grandkids picking and shucking and snapping and whatever else on the farm.

My problem is I don't use any sort of cartoonish or photo looking elements. I like my pages to look like I scrapped them for real using chipboard and ribbons and paper flowers and such. I would love some typical gingham, some cherries and berries, some apples and pumpkins, just something shabby and country in a wide range of colors. Like Grandma's Kitchen, only shabbier.

I know what I want, but I am a terrible designer. My favorite bundle here is the Family Game night bundle. SO many beautiful shabby elements. I am going to use it for some of my cherry picking pages, but I would really love to have a similar style of bundle for farming/homesteading.

So have at it! Thank you so much for being here for us when so many other digishops are going away. We appreciate you!

I have a ton of gardening and chicken pictures I need to scrapbook myself so if you don't mind I'd like to give this a go.Do a google search of shabby chic color pallets or find a few inspiration pictures (doesn't have to be farm related, just colors schemes you like) and post them so I can have a place to start.

Hi Marti, I'm a primitive, colonial, and farmhouse crafting girl myself and have done so for years. From what you've described, you're needing a "Homestead-Farmhouse" style bundle. Take a look at some of these things for farmhouse decor on Etsy and I think this will pretty much match what you're looking for. A few years back, the crafters mixed what used to be known as the French Country (shabby chic) style with the primitive homestead, then they all started calling it "Farmhouse." Here's the link for the Etsy home decor for an example...Farmhouse. And you may like the "vintage farmhouse" even more as it's the hottest decor style and what everyone is currently going after. Look at the vintage farmhouse here on Pinterest. I absolutely love it myself and I think that is about what type of bundle you would need?

Shannon, IF Marti likes what she sees in those links and it fits what she's looking for, you could create a beautiful color palette just by looking at the links as well. I've seen your work and I'm sure you can create something wonderful for her. smiley

I was just passing by this evening and your thread caught my eye, so just had to try and help with that style you need. smiley

Thanks Libby! This is exactly what I mean. (This is my life, only a lot less cluttered and a lot more clean!)
Add some amazing brads and florals and farm themed word art, and you have my kit! Thanks for passing by and sharing the links!

Glad I could be of help. I can't wait to see what Shannon creates for you, her work is amazing! smiley

Thanks Libby smiley

This sounds fun (and I love the boards at the links that Libby provided); I know that the blog trains here are pretty much already decided upon for the year but I'm going to offer up this as a suggestion anyway.

Marti, I totally appreciated your knowing exactly what you want; it makes it so much easier to plan designs.

God luck with this. smiley

Edited to add: The blog train suggestion post is closed, so I have suggested this to the Commons Designers. We'll see where that goes. smiley

I'm finishing a kit that will be posted in a couple of stores I use. As soon as I do that I will see what I can put together for this; country/farmhouse with a touch of Americana is my favorite design style. I'll try to put together a color palette this evening and I'll post it here to see if it is acceptable. When that is done I'll go to work.

Check out Brooke's Apples kit:

And she has some other fruit ones as well.

This was the template I used

Thanks, Shannon! I really like your word art and all the ginghams! I appreciate your creative time and energy! smiley

Thanks, Dawn! I really appreciate your work on this!

If you don't mind, Shannon, I'll use your palette.

I Don't mind at all. I figured people might want to use the same palette so we could all be consistent.

Shannon Michelle, I love those animals and the wooden tools, you do awesome stuff! Thank you!

Thanks chickadee.

Thank you, Shannon!

That is a wonderful looking collection. Thank you for sharing your hard work and creativity.

Hi Marti, I finally had to quit creating more elements and papers for your Homestead request. I have started posting the individual elements and papers. Once I'm done (which will probably take me 2-3 weeks since I am limited to only 100 graphics per week), I'll be able to upload everything in kit form. Hope you like them!

Wow, Dawn, those are terrific!

I love your cute little rooster and the fruit and veg are fantastic!

thank you Celestine and Shannon

Wow, Dawn, this is really awesome. I love your double frame. Do you have a template for it?
I would love to make some in different colors ... maybye for a blogtrain or as a freebie ...

The DigitalScrapbook.com designers have taken this on:

I used the color palette "French Cafe" and designed an element kit:

You can download this kit in the Freebies Section and I will also add some elements to the commons.

I added a few more elements to the commons ... search for "Homestead".
