[FULFILLED] England

How about England kits.

edited: subject title for ease of finding and forum consistency

Ooh, I'd love to do something like this. My husband is from England and we have quite a few pictures to scrap. Though right now I'm in the midst of doing another large bundle. It's possible one of the other fab designers will pick up on this before I get a chance. smiley

there are plenty of london, queen, tea, union jack, etc. but need the out of way places that make the UK so wonderful, thatched cottages, etc.

Tammy, great idea! My hubby has been to England twice for work and I have never scrapped any of the photos he took - countryside, thatched cottages, etc. Would love a kit I could use!

Maybe we should do an England blog train? I feel like we have lots of Anglophiles in the community.

Would love it

Ooh, great idea Marisa!

Ohh, my mom's family comes from England. I have loads of pictures that need some English Scraps! Mom would love it if I scanned up grams older family pictures.

Romantic thatched cottages, cottage gardens, Yorkshire dales, Cornish coastline (and smugglers!), quiet country lanes, green grass, shady trees, canal boats, regattas, stately homes... smiley

Yes, yes, yes!

English heritage, history would be great.

I love the England, British kit idea. Going to London in April and taking lots of photos.

Fellow Brit here! I'd love a UK kit with something Shakespeare thrown in. Too many photos of my visit to Stratford that haven't been scrapped.

Sounds nice!

How about silhouettes or outlines of the great cathedrals & abbeys? Maps of the canal system, or of the major rivers, or of the bigger roads? Maps of layouts of cathedrals & abbeys? Tube signs? Maybe do "welcome to..." signs for each of the counties rather than for towns & cities - that would cover more of the country than using specific cities.

I'd love to see a kit that recognizes there's more to England than London, doubledecker buses, castles & great houses, & twee villages - there's wonderful industrial architecture, great terraces of houses, marvelous beech woods, narrow boats (I spent three months on one when I was 11 then honeymooned on one & I'd love to retire onto one!), seaside old hotels & amusement piers (there are at least a couple left but sadly, the one I loved most in Weston-Super-Mare was destroyed a few years ago), lots & lots of things to choose from!

Of course I'm all for this one! I might be a bit biased seeing as I live in a 16th century cottage in an English village though! Sadly it isn't thatched but I have friends who do live in thatched cottages!

Janet it would be great if you did it and I could maybe help if you need English things.

The idea of an English blog train would be great fun, I would love to see what people in other countries perceive as English!

i WOULD LOVE IT ....daughter and granddaughter living in England , I have a lot of pictures ....waiting
and a lot in my layouts too !!

My fiance is English. PLEASE do this so I can scrap photos of my trips over there and the eventual relocation across the pond!

Oooooo, Kathie, I am so incredibly jealous right now! A 16th century cottage in an English village pretty much describes my dream life. I'm in the oldest house in my small (pop 2400) western Massachusetts town (the building dates from the 1760s) but as much as I love it, it's *not* in England. smiley

I'm thinking this will make a fun blog train theme. If you have some thoughts, please come share.

I posted in the June blog train post, but came here to read the comments. It jogged my memory...I have some great Elizabethan and Shakespearean characters that I purchased a CU license for, as well as some vintage Anglophile graphics of items other than people. England is a big part of my heritage and I so wanted to visit it in my lifetime. Alas, I didn't make it before my health took a nosedive. I'm excited about this perhaps being our blog theme for June.

what's exciting is everyone here has fresh ideas not just the typical ones

Anyone who is interested in an English theme, please come to the June Blog Train thread to share your thoughts!!!

We are discussing the colour palette at the moment, so NOW is the time to have your say! Let us know if the current palette will or won't fit your needs!

So much fun! I'm going on a short summer holiday trip to the Peak District so knowing there's a rural England kit on its way sets my mind at ease already, now I know I'll have something super appropriate to scrap my pictures with! May I request pocket cards? smiley

@Lynn: I don't think pocket cards will be a problem smiley

Eh, my health took a nosedive before I got there too, but I'm still planning on going eventually, and hopefully living there. It's going to take a while--disability budget doesn't allow me to save much, even with a cheap apartment and a roommate--but I'll get there anyway. I'm just finding other ways to make it happen sooner than a decade down the road.

See the kit search here for all the great England kits our designers have made.

I'm going to declare this request fulfilled.

If what you want hasn't been created, or you would like to see more items related to this request, please make a new request and be specific about what you are looking for. Please keep the request guidelines in mind, and make sure you don't have more than 2 active requests in this forum at any one time. Thanks!

Wow, just wow. what an awesome blog train. better than I could have even imagined. thank you
