[FULFILLED] Wedding Blog Train

Hey all- I joined DigitalScrapbook.com strictly to do my wedding, and I'm SO happy I did, but there are only a few kits (Country Wedding) that are wedding-themed. Would love to see some more of those!

Thanks!
Kelsey

Thanks for the mention, Erin!

She's right--I went off-the-beaten-path with my England kit as my sweetie is English and we'll be planning a transatlantic wedding. It's not a huge kit, but it's got papers, 2 brides, 2 grooms, a lovely carriage and a register office, plus a plane, luggage, and passports to help scrap any travel involved (like a honeymoon).

The links are still up, and will remain so for the foreseeable future. I'm more likely to take down links for anything else first! smiley

I love your site layout very much Holly and that kit too.. smiley

I have something in my blog..

@Sherry: Don't give me the credit for my site layout--it's a free theme. All I did was change colors a bit and add my own images. I didn't want it to be obviously a WordPress site when you look at it, but that's what it is under the hood. My old theme (Sliding Door) did a good job of looking more custom than most WordPress themes, but it was created before more people using mobile devices to access the net became a thing, so it wasn't responsive to smaller screen resolutions and was hard to navigate on mobile because of that.

It might still be interesting to do a wedding-themed blog train, even though I've already done it once...or perhaps make it a designer challenge, with a given palette?

Holly; I have always followed your posts here and I like that you are always unique with your point of view..you have a natural talent about explaining things and that reflects through your site..I know that's just a free theme of your site, but you deserve a credit because your site looks little different and more professional than us which is again unique like you..I don't calculate much while giving compliments to a beauty..I Just Say What I Think. . smiley

I also would love to have a blog Train on wedding topic..Some beautiful designs can be created..

More professional is a matter of what field you're in--my site's current theme is great for photography and decent for blogging. I have another one in mind if I ever decide to open a personal store or move my scrapbooking stuff to its own blog, but that probably won't be for a while.

As far as the blog train idea, I'd certainly be happy to create some more wedding elements--it's not like most weddings don't have about a million planning details to scrap, plus showers, bachelor/bachelorette parties, rehearsal/dinner, prep on the big day, the ceremony itself, and whatever you decide to do for a reception! A big book requires a lot of elements so it doesn't look like too many of them are recycled a few dozen times over...but half the kit I did was travel-based due to the transatlantic nature of my personal situation.

Thanks, gals. @Erin, I never would have looked under London for wedding, so thanks much for pointing it out. Those are some great elements.

And I'm still selfishly hoping for a whole train... smiley

Eh, it's just that the the whole "England" theme was so broad, and it WAS the June blog train, and my sweetie of 2+ years lives there, so we'll probably need a kit to scrap a transatlantic engagement and the travel needed to actually get married. Any time a theme's really broad and I'm having trouble with ideas, I look to find how I can connect it with something important to me...and that was the best idea I could come up with for England after my sweetie told me he wouldn't take source photos for me, that I needed to figure out how to represent England myself rather than through his eyes. He's a wise man in many ways. smiley

I'm glad you like the elements!

I would LOVE a wedding blog train (to use and create). My sister's getting married so I'm in the wedding mood!! I would like some wedding shower, bachelorette party & reception kits specifically. Kelsey, did you see Amanda's "Shabby Wedding" bundle in the "Commons" section?

I would suggest that if we do a wedding blog train that it be designed as a grayscale or template blog train (don't think we've ever done that?), because while the "country wedding" theme was fun, it used specific colors, and we all know that each wedding has its own color scheme. That way, everyone needing to scrap wedding pages can color according to the palette used for the wedding they are featuring in their pages.

And @Holly, maybe you can go tag your England kit with wedding, if it's not tagged that way now.

@Julie, great idea! I was thinking more that a very neutral palette would be needed, since most brides wear a variation on white...

This image showed up in my inbox yesterday, and I was reminded of the discussion here...

It's actually Pantone's prediction of the "hot colors" for spring/summer next year, so it should be right on trend if we chose a similar palette, plus a green for the floral arrangements. All those delicate colors should allow a bride to get away with adding a couple of ribbons or flowers in her chosen wedding color scheme and have it look like a custom kit was done just for her wedding. (Of course, overlaying her theme colors over a couple of elements in the grey color from that palette would work well, too.)

This actually would be a rather good blog train idea. I love the idea of having a palette, but potentially also providing templates so that people can recolor as they wish. I'm not sure how having just templates would work out for people who aren't interested in designing and/or don't have the time/knowledge to research how to do it. Will mention it in the designer forum. smiley

Thanks much, ladies. Really excited to see if this comes to fruition!

A country wedding kit is in my mind too since long ago! hope to make a blog train about it soon!!

I would also love to have more wedding elements.

I know that there have been some recently and I understand that it is really difficult to do something that will please everyone when there are so many different colour schemes and personal touches for every wedding, but I thought that perhaps lots of white and cream elements and then people could use the backgrounds for their individual colours? With maybe some silver and gold metal words thrown in?

I personally would love lots and lots of ivy strands and borders, but obviously that is a personal wish and won't be applicable for everyone?

Please check out the designer collab Our Special Day, which really has a lot of wedding stuff.

I'm going to declare this request fulfilled.

If what you want hasn't been created, or you would like to see more items related to this request, please make a new request and be specific about what you are looking for. Please keep the request guidelines in mind, and make sure you don't have more than 2 active requests in this forum at any one time. Thanks!

I am SO excited for this. Thanks so much, ladies!!!!
