Collage using Layers in PS Elements 13

I'm a total Photoshop Elements newbie and have PSE 13. I'm trying to make a collage of 1 photo, copied to 6 layers, with each layer having a different hue or other adjustment layer, and each of the 6 layers would be repositioned to fill a 3x2 grid. So the effect would be like

A1|A2|A3
A4|A5|A6

Where A is the original photo and 1-6 are the different colors, like red, blue, green, yellow, cyan, magenta or whatever works for me.

I want to change the tone and color of each of the 6 versions so I have the base photo placed on 6 layers. Then I've added an hue adjustment layer to each of those 6 layers. However, I can't figure out how to make adjustments to each of the 6 layers without affecting the other layers that are are below it.

Could someone tell me how to go about isolating the color changes to each of the 6 layers without affecting the others?

TIA,
Mark

You select the layer you want to work on. Once selected you can make your adjustments. Since you are working on layers that may be stacked you may want to hide the other layers. Make your changes. Than unhide the layers. This will make it easier to make the adjustments

Thanks for the reply. That's pretty much what I'm doing now. I hide all other layers except for the layer I'm working on, and it's hue adjustment layer. Then, once I turn on the layer above it, the effect of that layer filters down. But I think I figured out what I need to do. For some adjustment layers, like Hue/Saturation, or Gradient, there's a tiny little checkbox in the lower left of the popup that says Clip to This Layer or Click to affect all layers below. Once I clicked it, it shows up as a little checkbox in the layers menu, in front of the icon for the adjustment layer. Once I selected Click to Clip to Layer, that solved the problem. Seeing the little checkbox in the layers menu lets me know if that adjustment layer is just for the immediate layer below it or for all layers below it.
