ELEMENTS 11 : Gamut Checking

How would I go about checking the gamut of my kits? I use PSE 11, and you don't seem to be able to change the colours from RGB to CMYK, which some Photoshop users have said they do. Is there a workaround with Elements? I don't know anyone with the full Photoshop, so can't ask anyone to check for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for posting the links, Nicole! I'll have to spend some time going through them smiley As I said, I don't know anyone with Photoshop myself smiley

Robyn, I'm struggling with this gamut issue, too. I have PSE12 and it doesn't check for gamut (nor does my old PSP8). It was suggested to me in our little FB group that I go ahead and use Photoshop CC as Nicole mentioned. I haven't made the jump yet, but I can use PS CC on both my Mac and PC here at work for around $10/month if I decide to. It's really sucky that I may have to do that just to check for gamut, although I know that PS is quite a few step ups from PSE. Last year when I joined here, I ended up buying two PSE's for both computers. Guess if I do stay with PS CC, I could try to sell the one for the PC. The one on my Mac was an instant download.

I'm going to do the 30-day trial of PS CC and see if it will be worth it. If I am able to get it for $10/month, I just wonder how long it will be before Adobe goes up.

I posted on the Coffee Shop blog facebook page, asking Rita if it would be possible for her to write an action for PSE users to check gamut - and she's already replied, saying that it was a great idea, and that she would do one within the next couple of weeks!!!!!!!!!

YAY!!!!!!!

I'll keep checking her blog, and let you know as soon as I see it there!!

Have you seen this? It might be worth investing in for PSE.. I don't know much about it, again, I don't use PSE anymore LOL. Just throwing it out there in case.

Robyn, that is awesome!! I sure hope she does.

Nicole, all I saw on the Elements+ was "soft proofing", which is what Pixelmator does (if you saw my post in the FB group to Ania) and I don't think it's the same as checking for gamut. Or, if it is, why don't they just say that?!?! lol
